Why Anthony LaPlaca chose Scottsville
Our country home was renovated and remodeled to fit today's lifestyle. The area is close to city of Charlottesville but tucked in the country hillside near Monticello, Highlands - Ash Lawn, Morven and numerous wineries and close to town of Scottsville along the historic James River with restaurants and shops.
What makes this Cottage unique

Cozy, quaint, and perfect
Rolling Meade was the perfect choice for our girls' weekend. Three of us were celebrating 25-years of friendship and we wanted someplace quiet and cozy but still relatively close to town.
This was the perfect location for visiting Scottsville and Charlottesville and the surrounding orchards and wineries. It's also very close to Monticello (just as close or closer than most hotels in Charlottesville).
The cottage itself is idyllic and big enough for a couple of friends or a family. With two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two sitting rooms, a large kitchen, and plenty of outdoor seating, we had no trouble relaxing and making ourselves at home.
The farm animals (goats, mini donkeys, and horses) were a huge added bonus for our small group of animal lovers. The owners provided peanuts and carrots for the animals and we thoroughly enjoyed feeding them.
The owners are very hospitable and gracious and made sure we had all the information we needed in advance and made a point to let us know they were available if we had any questions while we were there.
All in all, we had a perfect vacation and Rolling Meade was a big part of that.
Dear Elika and friends,
We are very happy to hear you enjoyed the cottage and our farm friends on your weekend.. The photos you sent us are Amazing and we really appreciate them! Hope you are all able to stay at the cottage again. There's many activities in the Charlottesville area throughout the year. Thanks again.

Perfect little country home/farm
Owners very fast with responses. Perfect little country farm with all the amenities that you would need for a nice wine country getaway. Plan on going back and staying again soon.
Great location (away from the hustle and bustle, but close to everything), very comfortable cottage, we especially loved the animals. Owners are great to work with and ensure you’re comfortablely settled in upon arrival.
We are so happy you were able to enjoy the cottage for your weekend despite the colder weather. Our farm friends are great entertainers, especially the goats. Hope you can stay at our cottage again on your return trip to our region.
Beautiful home in beautiful wine country
This cozy cottage made us feel right at home while we were in town for our cousin’s son’s first birthday. It had everything we could have needed, and Anthony is incredibly reaponsive and accommodating. We had a wonderful weekend and will definitely keep in mind when we travel to charlottesville in the future.
A great place to stay!
We had a lot of fun here. Feeding the animals, being out in the country but close to lots of historic places. Peanuts and carrots were provided to feed the animals!
Cottage Home and Animal Farm
The cottage is very nice in appearance and has lovely flowers and pasture. Enjoyed meeting and giving the animals a treat every afternoon. Close to Ash Lawn, Michie Tavern, Monticello, and Carter Mountain Orchard. Be aware the roads in this area have a lot of curves and the cottage is not visible from the road due to an enclosed wood fence and thus hard to find. GPS is a must.
Dear Brenda and guests,
Thank you for stay at our weekend home.
We will take your comments under consideration and add more reflectors and sign posts to illuminate the entry to the horse shoe driveway from the road for future guests.
Visit nearby historic Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson and Ash Lawn historic home of James Monroe. Visit nearby vineyards and wineries: Blenheim Winery,, Trump Vineyard, Jefferson Winery, Cunningham Creek Vineyard, Thistle Gate Winery, Keswick Vineyards and many more!
