Great getaway, friendly property manager, homey accommodation, would highly recommend.
We had an amazing stay!! Joshua told us about the area. The casita is an OASIS of peace!!
We loved it and the area so much, we booked it again for next May!! Thanks Capy family 😊😊
This is only my 2nd time staying on someones property opposed to going to a hotel and I honestly love it. Its alot more homey and comfortable. It was very clean and the owners were nice and very responsive to any questions I had.
Hideaway in Cottonwood Arizona
I loved the location. I wanted to spend a quiet time near my childhood memories, and this was perfect. I got to spend 2 days with my best friend, drive around old haunts and neighborhoods, and get out of the lava melting heat of Phoenix - and Cottonwood had temps around 106!
The house is a little hard to find, the house number is a bit hidden, but after that, all was easy peasy. The house was clean, cool, and ready to move in. A young girl showed me around, walked me thru the house and explained where everything was.
I immediately met the retired greyhound, Becky, and she is a gentle soul. Never barked or ran after me and my doggies, but stayed close by like she was checking me out. My girls are not used to any other dogs around me, so I was a little worried, but that was all on me as I am afraid of loose dogs - I have been attacked several times in my life. There was another dog, and it seemed to prefer to stay back and bark at us, but, again, nothing to worry about.
Everything about the house is just fine. There is no dishwasher or garbage disposal, not a problem, just something to know. The TV has no broadcast, it is just a viewing device for Netflix - I have never used Netflix before, not sure if complete or partial/special subscriber service - and viewing dvds. Not realizing no broadcast, I really missed the news and late night shows, but again, that is just me. I was tired after my busy days, so I just went to bed earlier.
There is a window AC unit and ceiling fans in both living room and bedroom that were never necessary as the swamp cooler kept the house extremely cool - I like that. It was a little cold in the early morning, but I just lived with it.
I did not use the outdoors except to walk my dogs, so have no opinion regarding the seating and all. And my time there was off season for ripe veggies, although I did see some nice green tomatoes that will probably be ready for picking in another couple weeks.
Bottom line, this is not a swank or plush 5 star resort, it is a modest cottage to enjoy a few days of peace and quiet. No pool, no slick landscaping, but out of the way - on a dirt road - just blocks from the main road and all of Cottonwood. Yes, I would stay again, it was perfect for my dogs, and I loved it. I hated to leave so soon.
This place was amazing. Quiet, tranquil, the outside garden was a great place to unwind. The Capy's were very hospitable, and shared a wonderful garden of fresh vegetables. We would definitely stay here again.
It’s just what I needed it’s a healing place. Josh, is very kind caring & giving person. The place is gorgeous the gardens are beautiful everything is perfect !
