Located in one of the most preferred neighborhoods in DC, this spacious DuPont Circle home rests on a quiet tree-lined street and features fine dining in walking distance. Conveniently located near Embassy Row, museums and shopping. Even better, nearby salons and bistros abound.

This is one of several units managed by an experienced host who has been awarded SuperHost Status on Airbnb. It is my aim to provide guests the same five-star touches that I look for when I travel: lodging located in a gorgeous neighborhood, safety, cleanliness, upscale linens and towels, comfortable mattresses and high-speed Internet.

The home has 1200 square feet of indoor living space, featuring high ceilings, tall windows and historic details. Enhancing those quarters is a private screened-in porch. Nestled in the trees, it's the perfect place to relax after a day of business or sightseeing. For extra convenience, there is an in-unit washer and dryer available for guest use.

Comfortable contemporary and antique furnishings are accented by eclectic décor. You’ll find the kitchen well-stocked, including a juicer and Vitamix. The space opens to the porch if you prefer taking meals outdoors.

The bedrooms are nicely sized and comfortably appointed; the mattresses topped with freshly laundered linens, cleaned just prior to your arrival. Extra privacy can be yours if traveling with couples, as the sofa sleeper in the living room expands the sleeping quarters.

Close to your front door you will find a corner market and a dry cleaner. Just a few blocks beyond enjoy restaurants, cafes, theatre and shopping. After dining, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood with our beautiful mansions.

Minutes away, the subway will transport guests to the most popular sites: the Smithsonian, the Capitol, world renowned monuments and Arlington Cemetery, to name a few. The White House is within walking distance with lovely sites along the way. And if traveling with children, so is the zoo.

Cabs, Ubers and bike rental stations are abundant in the area. If you favor your own vehicle, any number of street parking permits can be added to your quote.

About Gloria

I am a writer who works from home. My husband is a former mayor, and currently, a publisher in Washington, DC. We prefer quiet homes in residential neighborhoods when we travel, and offer ours to like-minded people whenever we're away.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We are a family of five, we all had a fantastic stay in Gloria's apartment in Kalorama, best neighborhood of Washington. Safe and close to Dupont Circle, a lot of stores and restaurants nearby.

The apartment is very charming and livable, the porch is so cosy and the best place to end the day.

Gloria is forthcoming and accommodating, very helpful in every way.

We would definitely stay again. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Fall Weekend in DC

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this property for a long weekend in early October. The listing described the property very accurately. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. Parking was easy, with the parking permit that Gloria secured for the weekend - friends were able to park near the home when they came to visit on Sunday. The furnishings were stylish and fun. Loved the chandeliers! The beds were warm and comfortable. We liked sitting in the dining room, reading the paper in the morning. The walk to DuPont Circle was easy and interesting through streets filled with beautiful embassies and lovely statues. The Phillips Collection is nearby, with extended hours on Thursdays.

There is a small shop a short walk away for groceries, added bonus was walking there via the Spanish Steps! We enjoyed dinner at Cafe Nora (call ahead for a reservation), Vidalia, and the Russia House. Highly recommend Kramer's Book Store for Sunday Brunch - browse the books while waiting for a table! Took the train to the Mall everyday, and had wonderful meals at Old Ebbits (don't miss the oyster bar at Happy Hour), and, oddly, the cafe at the National Museum of American Indians. Nice farmer's market at DuPont Circle on Sunday. Gloria was very professional and attentive during the booking, our stay, and following up afterward. We had everything we needed and would stay in this property again.

Owner's Response: Dear Ms. K, Can I hire you to write my website copy? I couldn't have described my home, or what you can find in my neighborhood, any better than you did. Thank you for helping other traveler's be informed! Wishing you all things wonderful, Gloria

Over all the place was great. Beds were comfortable.

The tile in the bathroom is cracked right where you step out of the shower. That is an easy fix and needs to be addressed before someone cuts the bottom of their foot. Also the shower drain plate is completely loose, also an easy fix.

Perfect row house close to everything!

  • 4 of 5

We loved Gloria's house! We walked to great restaurants, markets, and shops. The house was extremely clean and very spacious. As far as seeing the sights in Washington DC, once we were parked, we had short Uber trips to all of the sights. We arrived to town early, and Gloria was extremely accommodating in getting our parking pass and in the house early. Thanks for making our trip a success.

Clean, comfortable and convenient place to rest during a busy trip!

  • 5 of 5

Gloria was very responsive and proactive with the info she shared to make sure we were comfortable and prepared for our stay, not that much prep was needed. There were enough amenities included so we could travel light and still feel comfortable when crashing at the end of long days doing the tourist thing. Quiet neighborhood and still very convenient to get in and out of downtown. Plenty of restaurants nearby to enjoy. We were very pleased with our stay.

A perfect oasis in the heart of the action.

  • 5 of 5

This property was perfect for our family. It is located in where many of the embassies are found, and those are always in the best neighborhoods anywhere in the world. The home is a 10 minute walk from the metro station and the park at DuPont Circle: close to cafes, restaurants, shopping and sites, yet is a quiet, safe haven at the end of the day. A charming, classic DC rowhouse, the apartment itself has everything a traveler needs for a comfortable stay, from the stocked kitchen to quality mattresses, linens and towels. Gloria was kind from booking to check-out, and enormously organized! We have already recommended this property to others.

Wonderful home in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We wanted a true Washington, DC experience, and this charming rowhome did the trick. From the quiet tree-lined street that is close to everything, to the urban chic décor and the relaxing screened in back porch. The home was as described and spotlessly clean and the owner was always quick to respond. We will stay here again.
