This lovely one bedroom apartment has been redone to high standards. As it is small, we wanted to create a cozy, romantic, Parisian atmosphere. We've used stripes, warm colors and natural materials such as granit and hardwood floors to create a classic, romantic effect.
Enter the building using the door code and go past the mailboxes through the long hallway with exposed stone walls. The gate at the end of the hallways also opens with a code. Go through the gate and the apartment is the first one on the left. Facing you as you enter the apartment is the striped burgundy colored salon with two comfortable armchairs, a small coffee table, a lighted niche with books, a closet and a portmanteau for hanging.
To the left of the entrance is the fully-equipped kitchen with a granit worktop, an eating area at the end, a refrigerator, combination washer-dryer, small oven, microwave, stovetop, and dishwasher. We've recalled the burgundy color theme with the kitchen cabinets. As we love coffee, you have two choices: the Bodum French Press or the Nespresso maker. There is also a tea kettle. The kitchen is stocked with some basic items for your use: salt, pepper, coffee, sugar, tea, oil and vinegar. There is also high quality Brabantia cookware (which you may not need to use much given the almost overwhelming choice of restaurants in the area!).
Across from the kitchen is the bathroom tiled floor to ceiling with extra large square tiles to create a sense of space and harmony. There is a state of the art, aesthetic water heater (details are important!), Duravit sink and WC, and a large Italian tiled shower with a thermostatic tap. The bathroom was designed for maximum comfort in a small space.
To the left of the living room is the bedroom, the largest room in the apartment. Lighter stripes decorate the walls, and the high wrought iron English bed fits perfectly into the space. We also chose this bed so that you'd have space to store your luggage underneath.
We've also included a small English antique commode and a comfortable two-seater sofa if you'd like a second relaxation area. There is cable TV and Wifi of course, and the bedroom looks out onto a bright courtyard. The thick cotton curtains block out the light even though there isn't much at night, given the fact that the apartment is situated between two courtyards.
The atmosphere of the building is quite friendly and the neighborhood is fantastic. We'll leave a detailed apartment guide in the property, but we'd like to mention the fact that you are really in the heart of “everything”. If you turn left and then right at the end of the street, you find yourself on the rue Guenegaud next to The Seine. Cross over the Pont Neuf bridge and you're on the Right Bank. You're also a few blocks away from the Institut de France, the dome of which you can see when you walk out of the building. We could go on and on about the location.
If you turn right when leaving the apartment and go to the end of the street, you will find yourself on the famous rue de Buci with it's open air market, cafes, shops and such a lively atmosphere of what we call “Le Vieux Paris”. You can also head up a few more meters and hit the Boulevard St. Germain with its cinemas, shops and people-watching cafes..... Continue from there either straight to the chic St. Sulpice area or turn left instead and head towards St. Michel... The possibilities are endless.
We hope to welcome you to our apartment soon!
