Adorable house in a great location!!

  • 5 of 5

This house was adorable and in a great location. There is a wine bar next door and another cash bar that's open 24/7 on the opposite corner, so it was great to go there the first night and walk back home in less than a minute. The house is within walking distance to the Ruby slipper which is an amazing place to go for brunch and we never waited more than 5 minutes for a Lyft or Uber to show up. It's seriously a quick drive to the French Quarter!

I fell in love with this house and would definitely want to stay here again...only next time we won't forget our boudin in the freezer hahaha. Thanks again for the great hospitality and all the suggestions during our visit!!

Owner's Response: Awe that's too bad about your boudin (sausage)! Glad to hear you had a great time. We love the Ruby Slipper and Second Vine they are always great for brunch or a cocktail and super easy / quick to get to. Come stay with us again next time you visit New Orleans.

Convenient and quaint, close to the French Quarter.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Bohemian Bungalow. It was close to the French Quarter, Market Street, Riverwalk and we especially loved the little wine bar next door.Second Vine Wine was a friendly and welcoming end to our days. We had everything we needed and felt comfortable walking to our destinations. The little porch upstairs and the attic room could use a little love but other than that it was great. We will definitely consider staying again if it's available. Crystal River Girls!!

Owner's Response: Hello ladies! Glad you enjoyed the trip. If you come stay with us again, you'll find brand new patio furniture on the upper deck. We just replaced the chairs and bench while there in August. The attic area is next! Thanks so much for staying with us.

The property was great. Very modern and clean.

  • 5 of 5

The location of the property was excellent. Within walking distance of the French Quarter. Also, was able to catch the trolley to the Riverwalk. The neighborhood is very safe. Most nights we didn't return until 2 and 3am. On the last day of our stay we found a very nice restaurant down the street that reminds you of a Farmers Market. Ms. Liz is an excellent host. Whenever I had questions she responded really quickly. Whenever I go back to NOLA I will always check for the availability of this property first.

Owner's Response: We are happy that you had a great time and appreciate the kind words. I am wondering if you meant the St. Roch Market as the place to eat. It does remind me of a farmer market filled with food stalls that have a huge selection and tables to sit inside or out. Also a great discovery outside of the French Quarter.. it's just a wee bit down St. Claude St from our place. Come stay with us again next time your visiting...

The house was very clean and accommodating. It was such a cute place! We loved the location as well!

  • 5 of 5

We had a blast in NOLA, our stay was great! The beds are great for napping after experiencing the shopping in the French Quarter. We would be revived for the night life NOLA has to offer. We never had to wait more than four minutes for an UBER to pick us up from the house. It is located on a lively street full of lively characters. And it is in walking distance of everything. We had a wonderful stay!

Owner's Response: It's great to hear the house was in a good location for you. Yes we are close enough to the Fr. Qtr to zip back and have a break and head back out again easily enough. Come stay with us on your next New Orleans adventure!

All I wanted and more!

  • 5 of 5

I had a great time at the Bohemian Bungalow! After being super flexible and understanding when my first trip had to be cancelled last minute due to weather, I knew Liz was a great host, and the house experience matched her awesome hospitality!

The home is in a great location, to be sure. We walked to a few of the great recommendations made, but also rode around on the streetcar, which was very conveniently located to the property.

Inside, everything we wanted was offered and available. The decor had awesome touches, as well as the basic necessities for a home stay.

All told, Liz has been the best, and her Bohemian Bungalow is awesome! I would definitely stay there again!

Belle maison bien équipée mais trop bruyante

  • 2 of 5

Owner's Response: We are so disappointed that you felt the house was under par. I feel badly that you were so disturbed by the noise from the bar and street noise (cars etc). I honestly feel that Mardi Gras was a big factor - the locals celebrate as much or even more than the visitors! I stay at the house regularly during weeknights and weekends and have not had much issue with noise. It usually doesn't carry on every night or go on all night. For sure the front bedroom hears it more than the back bedroom. Please check our other reviews to see what other guests have found (in 67 reviews we have 9- 4 star and 57- 5 star) regarding the local tavern and the wine bar. If you are reading this please don't hesitate to send us a note for more robust details about the bar / tavern and noise.

3 Blocks to the French Quarter, but don't just stop there:

We are only 1 block to Frenchman Street!

A little history:

The most famous and frequently visited section of Frenchmen Street is a short section in the Marigny neighborhood, just down river from the French Quarter. This area was once the plantation of a wealthy Creole born man who made the dice game Craps popular in America. He influenced the city of New Orleans with his joie de vivre–or a keen enjoyment of living– and extravagance. In 1806 his property was subdivided. The area of Frenchman Street in the Marigny neighborhood slowly developed into a happening block with a mix of a unique European flair and cosmopolitan feel.

Now, Frenchmen Street is the thriving epicenter of New Orleans music, culture, and food. The street’s eclectic mix of people, clubs, restaurants, and venues come together like a gumbo to form one of the most energetic and vibrant cultural hot spots in the entire world.

Come to Frenchmen Street to immerse yourself with the locals, and have an experience of New Orleans that you will never forget!
