This 1200 square foot 1840’s Creole Cottage is located in the heart of the Marigny Triangle, only 3 blocks from the French Quarter and Bourbon St. and only 1 block to Frenchman St. filled with fantastic music clubs (jazz and others) and great restaurants.

Enter the home into the living room with sofa, chaise lounge and 2 comfy arm chairs, enjoy some entertainment on the 32' flat screen TV w DVD player along with radio and CD player if you wish to enjoy your own tunes. Living room is open to the kitchen area with amazing updated eat in kitchen with custom cabinets marble counter tops and a unique repurposed soda shop counter to sit/dine at for 6 or even 8 people

The kitchen has new stainless steel appliances including 5 burner gas stove, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, etc.. The kitchen is fully stocked with all your culinary needs during your vacation whether you are just looking to make a quick breakfast or if you are serving dinner for eight!

Behind the kitchen is a full 4 pc bathroom (including tub and shower) with a beautiful reclaimed organ base custom made into the vanity, features slate tiles in bathtub and tumbled marble tile flooring.

Through the living room’s exposed pocket doors you will enter the second bedroom. This bedroom features an antique art deco styled armoire, QUEEN sized bed w linens, 32” flat screen TV w cable TV and iPod docking clock radio.

Either through the doorway of the second bedroom or entering off the kitchen is the master bedroom and bathroom. Master bedroom features a QUEEN sized iron sleigh bed with linens and full double closet to hang clothes and tuck away your luggage! A 32” flat panel TV and an iPod dock/clock radio to enjoy. The master bathroom is a full 4 piece including full bathtub and shower, featuring marble tile in the bathtub and slate tile floor. In the Master Bath is a washer and dryer that you can use as well.

Upstairs in the loft is a daybed (with pull up trundle) that will sleep 2 people, and a lovely second floor deck, bask in the warm New Orleans sun or enjoy the evening stars and a cool beverage !

Owner Note: Our base price includes 3 sleeping areas that can accommodate 6 people - if the loft is up steps so if you would rather you can use the pull out sofa as an option for sleeping, if you wish to use both the loft and sofa please note there is an additional surcharge for the housekeeping staff's added time for extra laundry etc. Please inquire with owner for added info.

House features 11 foot high ceilings, heart pine wood floors in living areas and tile floor bathrooms, lots of windows with tons of natural lighting, and lovingly refinished with an eclectic combination of new and salvaged materials gives this cottage a very comfortable feel.

The home is great for families and groups of all lifestyles. The neighborhood is friendly and accommodating to all, host to many local bars and restaurants for all tastes and styles. Marigny, in the opinion of many, has become the more bohemian extension of the French Quarter, increasingly becoming the neighborhood of choice for writers, painters, musicians, street entertainers and artists of all sorts.

The home is non-smoking, but smoking is permitted outside on the front stoop.

We love the Marigny Bywater area for it's creative and energetic vibe! Lots of artists, musicians, writers and painters.

This 1840's cottage is full of history and charm AND has all the right updates! 12 foot ceilings and lots of windows make it bright and inviting. The great floor plan gives privacy to the sleeping quarters yet an open floor plan in the living areas, making it a cozy and welcoming home!

All I wanted and more!

I had a great time at the Bohemian Bungalow! After being super flexible and understanding when my first trip had to be cancelled last minute due to weather, I knew Liz was a great host, and the house experience matched her awesome hospitality!

The home is in a great location, to be sure. We walked to a few of the great recommendations made, but also rode around on the streetcar, which was very conveniently located to the property.

Inside, everything we wanted was offered and available. The decor had awesome touches, as well as the basic necessities for a home stay.

All told, Liz has been the best, and her Bohemian Bungalow is awesome! I would definitely stay there again!

Belle maison bien équipée mais trop bruyante

SI VOUS CHERCHEZ LE CALME, LA DÉTENTE, FUYEZ CETTE ADRESSE !! Située entre un bar ouvert 24h/24 et un caviste avec petite terrasse ouvert tard la nuit et à deux maisons de l'avenue Saint Claude où passent de nombreux véhicules à tout heure, les nuisances sonores sont particulièrement gênantes. J'avais beau y être pendant 10 jours pendant la période de Mardi Gras du 7 au 16 février 2018, ce n'est pas la raison principale de ce bruit nocturne. J'en ai personnellement discuté avec le propriétaire de la cave à vin qui m'a confirmé que c'était comme cela toute l'année et j'ai pu constater qu'il s'agissait bien de locaux et non de touristes qui étaient dehors toute la nuit. Pour avoir séjourné deux rues plus loin, la différence de bruit est ÉNORME. Évitez absolument la chambre coté rue, beaucoup trop bruyante . En revanche, la maison est bien équipée, des chambres (literie), à la cuisine, aux salles de bain et le séjour. Le canapé convertible du séjour n'est pas adapté aux adultes car matelas trop léger mais c'était parfait pour notre fils de 7 ans. Profitez de la belle petite terrasse en période de soleil. Petit souci de propreté que j'ai fait remarquer tout de suite à la propriétaire. Nous avons aussi trouvé le frigo rempli, c'est bien gentil pour les locataires précédents, mais de quand datent les produits qui s'y trouvaient... ? Mystère donc évitez d'en manger ou boire, on ne sait jamais. Nous aurions préféré que le frigidaire soit vidé avant notre arrivée. Possibilité de se garer gratuitement devant la maison, coté maison, sans trop de souci même en période de Mardi Gras. A noter que la propriétaire Liz, répond rapidement à vos mails. Owner's Response: We are so disappointed that you felt the house was under par. I feel badly that you were so disturbed by the noise from the bar and street noise (cars etc). I honestly feel that Mardi Gras was a big factor - the locals celebrate as much or even more than the visitors! I stay at the house regularly during weeknights and weekends and have not had much issue with noise. It usually doesn't carry on every night or go on all night. For sure the front bedroom hears it more than the back bedroom. Please check our other reviews to see what other guests have found (in 67 reviews we have 9- 4 star and 57- 5 star) regarding the local tavern and the wine bar. If you are reading this please don't hesitate to send us a note for more robust details about the bar / tavern and noise.

Great rental property for our NOLA vacation

Nice and well-appointed rental home . Perfect for our family. Wonderful accommodations in a centrally located area just a couple blocks away from the French Quarter, restaurants, drugstore, great thrift shops, Frenchmen Street... all within walking distance. We all enjoyed our stay very much period immediately comfortable with the property. Very cozy and a safe neighborhood with free Street parking right out front. The only thing that maybe negative for someone is a bit of noise late at night from a pub on the corner. This is an easy fix by leaving some music playing or earplugs. Was not a problem for us as we are late night people ourselves. We even found beads and masks to wear to the pre Mardi Gras parade. Thanks to Liz for the lovely accommodations. We will recommend this place to friends and hope to be back again ourselves.

Great place close to all the action!

This place is a great little home away from home. It's situated in a residential neighborhood, relatively quiet at night, but only a block away from some great breakfast/pastry shops and a couple of blocks away from both Frenchman St. and the French Quarter. It's also a half block away from the streetcar stop and the 88 bus if you want to veer away from the Quarter and get to know the rest of the city.

A word of caution: The upstairs/third bedroom should only be used by somebody young and healthy though - the stairs are quite treacherous and difficult to maneuver. This was fine as we had my younger brother with me. There's a nice balcony up there but we had our parents with us as well who couldn't navigate the steep/slick stairway.

I would definitely recommend staying here - it's the perfect location to go out and explore the city!
