Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Kimberly, As I expected the moment I booked your lovely cottage, we had a splendid stay. In fact, the experience exceeded our expectations. We will be returning more frequently now that we have discovered this remote and undisturbed corner of the world. My friends and I thank you for everything! Hopefully next time we will get to meet you and have a glass of wine :} I will be in touch , take good care Behrad ( and friends)

Notes:
We have loved this house for years and its part of the reason we keep it. Please check out the historic inscriptions on the wall behind the front door. This house was built in 1931 by a ship builder. You and your family will love this true historic cottage feel. No glam here its all in the memories and the nostalgia, immediately when you walk in you know this cottage has shared many family memories. It's not the Ritz-Carlton, I would say more like Hemingway would have written some of his best novels here! We unplug although we added internet and cable. Enjoy and please ask if you have requests...we can help in many ways as we are long time residents that can arrange a few quirks! Bring your extended family and don't worry about the sand..it's a beach cottage!!

Rest & Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Just finished a long weekend at this property. The weather was a bit rainy for a few days, but we had some sunshine as well. Lots of outdoor lounging available on both sides of this house. Though my favorite spot was the rocking chairs on the porch facing the ocean. I spent most of my time sitting with a nice cup of coffee or tea with my 2 spoiled pups laying at my feet. We headed down Route 1 to Rehoboth and Ocean City for some sightseeing and it was a pleasant drive. There are a lot of places to grab groceries and seafood. Grilling seafood is my favorite thing to do, so I made good use of the gas grill. The house is very well equipped and stocked, everything you need. Upstairs bedrooms and beds were comfortable, and I got the best sleep every. Kim is an exceptional host and she was always prompt at replying to any messages. Overall, the house has a charming rustic feel that suits me perfectly. I hope to visit again in the future.

Our family's favorite getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We just wrapped up a 2-week stay at Kim's house (our second stay in 2 years). With 5 adults and 4 children, vacationing for extended periods of time can prove challenging, but her house is so comfortable, well-appointed and convenient to the beach that no one ever gets bored! Coming back to it for the 2nd time was almost like coming to our own home, it's just that comfortable. We highly recommend the property!

Cozy and homey!

  • 4 of 5

Has all the amenities of home. Comfortable and relaxing. Enjoyed the sound of the waves from the beach while watching TV and enjoying a cup of tea. It was as good week to relax and unwind with the family. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home!

A quiet, country place to be

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 (with 2 toddlers) really enjoyed ourself in this cute country cottage with our own quiet beach. Kim was very friendly to work with and easily accessible when needed. The only negative thing is that it is a good 45 minute drive to the ocean but that was already noted before renting.

Great time with the family

  • 4 of 5

We had a very nice week. The House was great and the location and amenities were all as expected. We were a little concerned about the space and overall the situation with the bedrooms but we found it to be a great fit for my family. We loved the house and the grandchildren enjoyed the beach and the high tide flooded areas. We enjoyed the location and in general we had a grand vacation. The weather was quite warm (upper 90s) and at times the air conditioner had trouble keeping the house cool enough for me but it was a lot cooler than outside. The beach is nice but not manicured and commercial, Lots of horseshoe crabs, turtles and yes a few small rocks and whatever washed up with the tide. Very few people were seen and we had it to ourselves early in the morning. The area is away from the commercial areas and restaurants, stores, bars and whatever else were a 15 minute drive for me . The place was clean and everything was as expected. Good wireless internet service and good TV/cable . We loved the quite beach and the kayaks. thanks for a great vacation.
