This condo was built in 2007 and features a 2 bed, 2 bath design, complete with all the amenities needed to create an unforgettable getaway! Located within the town of Grand Lake and only a short distance from shopping, dining, & entertainment.

You will enjoy being located just minutes away from the Grand Lake Golf Course, snowmobiling & hiking trails, cross-country & snowshoeing trails, and horse back riding, just to name a few. You can also enjoy fishing, boating, and sight seeing at one of the three lakes located in the area (Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake, & Lake Granby).

About Shane and Amanda

Amanda and I have been visiting and enjoying all that Grand Lake has to offer for many years now. I grew up in Grand Lake and lived there for 18 years of my life. My family still resides in Grand Lake and Amanda and I visit as often as possible, especially during the summer months. Amanda and I currently reside in San Diego, CA and we manage our vacation rental that we have decided to call 'High Mountain Hideaway' ourselves.

Why Shane and Amanda chose Rocky Mountain National Park

If you have ever visited Grand Lake before, or even if you haven't and this is your first visit, you will soon realize that Grand Lake is a very special and beautiful place. The way that the mountains, especially Mt. Baldy, surround and compliment the three lakes in the area is absolutely stunning! The slow pace of the goings-on and the deafening silence of the wilderness will leave an indelible impression. The sheer beauty of the wildlife that so amazingly mingles with the population is something to be seen. Growing up in Grand Lake, I often took these things for granted. Now that I no longer live in Grand Lake, I truly appreciate its real beauty and I enjoy sharing that with Amanda. We purchased High Mountain Hideaway so that we could always own a piece of Grand Lake and so that others could stay at our place and experience what it is that makes Grand Lake so special to them.

What makes this condo unique

Amanda and I purchased High Mountain Hideaway because of its rustic but modern, 'home-away-from-home' feel. The pine wood walls in the living room, the beautiful wood furniture, the tile work in the bathrooms, along with the black granite counter-tops in the kitchen, all contribute to the 'cabin in the woods' feel of the property. To add a personal touch, we have adorned all three rooms of High Mountain Hideaway with a wall-mount of a fish caught in waters near the area. The Mackinaw Trout in the living room was caught in Lake Granby, the Mackinaw Trout in the guest bedroom was caught in Grand Lake, and the Northern Pike in the master bedroom was caught in Stagecoach Reservoir near Steamboat Springs, CO. We have put much work and effort into creating the perfect vacation getaway for our guests. In addition, we are located on the first floor so climbing stairs is not required!

We really enjoyed our stay! Perfect location as it was super close to the town. The place was very clean and cozy..Also the owners were very nice, responsive and honest! I would definitely recommend this place to others!

Close to town

The property was located within walking distance to town which was great, but if you are looking for a view you only see the town trash dump out of the sliding glass windows so we kept those closed. The condo seemed updated but a few fixes of drawers, locks etc is needed and the carpet in the family room is trashed. It seemed strange that there was only one couch to sit on so for 4 adults and one child we had to use the kitchen table to all sit together, not all that comfy for watching the Broncos on Saturday night.
