Very nice relaxing getaway!

  • 4 of 5

Cabin was nicely furnished and kitchen equipped with almost anything you'd need. Plenty of beds and bathrooms for everyone. Outdoor space with the pond, swimming and fishing docks and kayaks and paddle boats were perfect. That's where my family spent most of the time. I'd definitely recommend this place for other families and hope one day we might return.

AWESOME

  • 5 of 5

We spent the last two days in July and the first week of August staying seven nights at this family lodge. There were 16 adults, rangining from 18 to 76 years and eleven children ranging from 4 through 14 years. The place is ideal for family get togethers. It was extremely clean and VERY child friendly. Fishing was ideal and swimming fun for everyone. Family members that went for walks found friendly farmers who enjoyed meeting and visiting with them. Bond fires every evening were ideal for visiting. Our family members came from the Los Angeles area as well as the Virginia Beach area. The memories created will last a lifetime. My husband and I are in our mid seventies. We never thought it would be possible to have our six children and their families all together under one roof. Oh, and as an extra bonus, the management ordered ideal weather conditions for the entire week. i would give this home an A++ for family reunions.

Wonderful property for a family get together.

  • 5 of 5

We had family from KS and IA join us at the lodge. Plenty of space for 15 of us. Enjoyed the location of the lodge and sitting by the pond. Great fishing too.

Serene family getaway spot

  • 5 of 5

We spent three glorious days here with the entire extended family, 10 adults and 12 children. The accommodations were even better than the pictures can show, because of the whole layout of the house. There is plenty of room, but the rooms are also situated to provide ample opportunity for a variety of activities as well as places for little ones to nap. The kitchen and dining area was plenty big for all of us to eat together. We also enjoyed the outdoor dining area overlooking the tiny lake. And the children could not get enough of the lake! There is enough shallow and sandy space for the non-swimmers and a floating dock just a short distance away for the stronger swimmers and adults, as well as kayaks and a rowboat. The adults enjoyed the beautiful peacefulness of this location, with deer and raccoons walking by in the evening and stars shining brightly overhead after dark, and no traffic noise at all.

We also appreciated the extras this location provides. There is a commercial dishwasher, so even dishes for 22 can be washed up and put away in a short time. There are washers and dryers on every level of the home, so keeping up with the laundry for 12 active children was a breeze. There is a walk-in cooler, as well as a couple of refrigerators, so there is plenty of space for all the food you need for a large group. There are plenty of bathrooms for the number of bedrooms, and there is even a bathroom with a shower right inside the back door, for showering off after swimming. There is a huge gathering area that was enough for all of us to be together to socialize.

This location is a little off the beaten path, but it is definitely worth the drive. We hope to return on an annual basis!

We'll go again!

  • 5 of 5

34 of us stayed there . . . ages 5 months - 73 . . . for a family reunion. It was fabulous!! So much to do and a comfortable, clean place to stay. The only thing we would change, if we could, would be the addition of a second oven and more hooks in the bathrooms (especially close to the shower).
