About Jim or Carman Taylor

This is part of the home place with the family farm. I grew up here and left to go to college and worked in Atlanta. Moving back home after retiring to quiet and simple life. I have updated cottage .. The porch gives you the most outstanding sunsets you have every witnessed and when the moon is out the view above the river looks like diamonds glistening.

Jim or Carman Taylor purchased this cottage in 1997

Why Jim or Carman Taylor chose North Carolina Mountains

This is part of the farm home place. I have an organic garden and fruit trees. The cottage has a paved driveway and very quiet. The Little Tennessee River below the cottage was once home of the Cherokee Indian Village. We still find pottery and arrows and tools from rocks.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage has a Little Tennessee River view that is very quiet. The River is one of the few that runs North. Bring your fishing pole to try your luck at a great catch .There 4 private waterfall on the property, several walking and log mountain trails to follow. The private streams have lots of minerals as ruby and specks of gold to pan. The afternoon sunset are of different colors and changes very fast with each view more beautiful.

Wonderful place--will be back!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week at the cottage and it was great. Carman and Jim are wonderful hosts and helped to make our stay (where we celebrated our 15th anniversary) really special. We got to watch the trees change into their beautiful autumn colors from the lovely front porch and the mornings with the sun and clouds on the mountains was awesome. The cottage had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and the area itself is great. We took a few hikes within easy driving distance that were outstanding, there are numerous waterfalls in the area, and of course, the zip lining was fun! I would recommend this cottage to those who like privacy, nature, and fresh mountain air!

Quiet retreat in the North Carolina mountains

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful week of peace and quiet after sitting through Irma. Our hosts were so helpful and the cottage was well equipped and comfortable. Golf and lovely mountain towns nearby. Just sitting and rocking on the front porch was the best. Thank you Carmen for my birthday cake!🎉

A True Gem

  • 5 of 5

This cabin exceeds the description. Yes it is secluded, quiet and peaceful, clean and well maintained. We loved eating our meals on the front porch and just relaxing and watching the sun set over the hills to the west. You can hear the Little Tennessee River, the crickets and Not the traffic. Although I can praise the cabin, the owners, Carman and Jim were a true blessing to us and to several other couples who evacuated Florida during Hurricane Irma. Caring, gracious and giving, truly good folks. God Bless You and Thanks so very much. J&J

Charming Mountain Cottage with the best Hosts!

  • 5 of 5

This charming cabin is located in a central local and is perfect for a romantic weekend or a week long stay. It is fully equipped and it is so lovely to sit on the porch morning, noon or night with coffee or wine and a good book and enjoy nature and the mountains. Our pooch has enjoyed the porch as much as we have. We've visited many area sights and we look forward to coming back. Our hosts were called away but have made suggestions and recommendations via text. We were so tickled when we arrived to find Sparkling wine and homemade pound cake; it had been a long day driving in the rain and it was perfect welcome. Irma has been tough but this has been our shelter in the storm. Thanks!

Lovely stay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and our little boy had so much fun in your cabin! We played in the creek, river and walked to the falls on the property. The cabin is pretty, with a wonderful porch. Carman's touches of fresh flowers, herbs and pound cake really make this place stand out. Our little boy loved the creek, finding rocks, arrowheads. He also loved Pop and Ava! He is still talking about them. Hope to be back soon! Thank you fir your hospitality!
