About Jim and Sandy Bay

We came over Dixie Pass, from the east, and bought property that day in 1972, we were so taken with the valley and entire region, and we still are. We own several properties now and are totally here and committed. We also run the John Day Valley Farmers Market every summer and have a Meditation, Yoga and Well Being center called

Canyon Mountain Center.

Jim and Sandy Bay purchased this bungalow in 2014

Why Jim and Sandy Bay chose John Day

We wanted to provide a vacation rental in town for those who come to the many fairs and events or just want a good central location that is simple to get to and has everything to relax with.

What makes this bungalow unique

This Bungalow is right in town and not a big place but totally together and simple. It is a far cry from a motel with a microwave and 150 sq. ft. and reasonably priced for a few people to enjoy together for short visits and events in town. It is air conditioned for summer or winter. Its' recreation room is 16 x 17 ft. and includes the 3rd bed, a queen hide-a-bed with extra padding for comfort. The room has a game table area and games as well as the extra closet as a 3rd room. It is located separately from the main home across the patio from its back door. the patio has a bar-bq and privacy or adjoining gates to our other two places there, for bigger groups. It is across from the county fair grounds and a 5 minute walk from down town.

Charming Bungalow has everything!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were heading back from a funeral in Enterprise, Oregon and stayed at this darling house for 2 nights with our cocker spaniels. You walk into a sunroom that is full of windows, then into the living room which is rich is dark woods and comfy furniture. The kitchen has absolutely everything, along with antiques that add even more charm. The bedrooms are also delightful..

They also have a big air conditioner in the living room that cooled the house right down, with fans in almost every room for extra comfort.

If we get over that way in the future, we will want to stay at the Bungalow again.

Thank you Jim and Sandy, the house was so very clean and a joy for us!

Beautifully kept home the picture does not do it justice.

Great home but, the only thing that would have been better would have been a bathroom in the little guest home. House was clean and great proximity and a great value!!
