About the property

This secluded oasis is just 15min from the town center of Fairbanks, but you'll feel like you are in the middle of the Alaskan Wilderness. The view literally stretches hundereds of miles in multiple directions. From your bedroom you will be able to see the distant Neighboring city of North Pole, and beyond that, the entire Alaskan Range dominates the landscape. At night, watch the amazing Aurora dance in the sky...right from your bed!

Save money by cooking your own meals in the well equipped kitchen. I can not over emphasize the view. You will wake up every morning, with all of Interior Alaska stretched before you.

Whether you want to pick our wild blueberries in the summer, see the many moose that wander through our yard, or observe the legendary Northern Lights that will dance over your head, you won't find a better place to explore Alaska from.

Nice clean place to stay for the price

  • 3 of 5

In the picture it shows the place with cathedral ceilings as the windows show on the house. If your do not question this you may think this is what your in for, this I knew. The apartment is above the garage, one bedroom, one bath, full kitchen, laundry and living room. Very clean comfortable place to make your base camp, great views form the windows of the Denali range on a semi/clear day over all good place, but may not be available in future as it was just sold.

Things that could be improved: Cook ware was very lacking, one fry pan had obviously not been cleaned but stored on shelf. Very lacking on pans and tools for cooking, just enough to get by. Be sure to bring foil as they do not have non-stick cookware all old and worn out, Hopefully this changes. Wasn't a problem for us, but they did not plow driveway even after 10 snow fall and snow shovel was not where to be found. Other than that great place. The other unit which I could not find on website has the cathedral ceilings and great view.

Owner's Response: Hi Robert, Thank you for the review. We appreciate all the positive remarks as well as the helpful info. The home did not sell, and we have restocked the kitchen when we were made aware that some things had been lost/taken. We were out of town at the time of your stay so didn’t know about the need for shoveling/plowing, and surprised our cleaning lady didn’t tell us. So sorry about that! We encourage our guests to make us immediately aware of anything that is needed such as things missing. We love our guests to be as comfortable as possible and will do what it takes to make it happen!:)

Spacious, comfortable, warm place with Alaskan character

  • 5 of 5

Lovely place in the hills north of Fairbanks, perfect for aurora viewing. Due to the large windows in the living room and bedroom, my family and I were able to easily monitor the clouds from the comfort of the warm home, and step outside when the sky was clear. Charming Alaskan decor, from hanging wall signs, to inuit dolls, and beautifully painted moose antlers and whale baleen... the spirit of the land surrounds you. The fold-out bed in the living room was very comfortable with the addition of the foam topper in the closet. Plenty of counter space for food prep. The host, Hannah, was out of town while we were there, but very communicative and accommodating. Highly recommend, and hope to visit again!

High in the hills a few miles north of Fairbanks, with beautiful views south to the Alaska Range. The apartment is well-furnished and a fine place to stay, and good for cooks. Hannah and family are great hosts, and we first met them when they knocked on the door on the first night to tell us to come out and see the Northern Lights. They said it was the best they'd seen in years, and the lights went on for nearly 2 hours. We're very grateful to have found this wonderful place.

Good place to stay for Aurora Viewing

  • 4 of 5

Nice place to stay but you must have a car as the nearest stores/activities are at least several kms away.

We saw beauiful aurura 2 nights in our 3 nights' stay. Good facility equipped by the Owner, the place was warm and quiet (except some compressor/engine (?) noise every half an hours (?) from the house, not apparent during the day).

Reason for one star less (4 stars) is the bed in the bedroom is too high for us to climb in. I seriously recommend the Owner to conside a normal height bed.

Recommend for stay.

Aurora Magic

  • 5 of 5

WOW!!!!! What a view. This is a fantastic apartment. Had everything we needed for a simply perfect stay. The fall colors were incredible. Seeing the Northern lights out the window was a great bonus. Hannah was great to work with, and provided great recommendations and help for getting the most put of Fairbanks. Also, when we first looked at this property we felt like it might be a little to far out. Let me assure you....nothing in Fairbanks is "too far out" and this could not have been more convenient. Thanks again Hannah for your hospitality.

I booked this apartment for my parents on their Golden Wedding anniversary trip to Alaska. The owners were very friendly and hospitable. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. My parents also got a great view of the Northern Lights!
