Inaccurate location, far from beach and center, slow WIFI
The property description says less than a kilometer to the beach and only 200 meters to shops. This is completely inaccurate, it takes exactly 25 minutes (a bit less than 2Km) on foot to the nearest Biarritz beach (Grand Plage) and center of Biarritz. The apartment is not located in the center as described. Even more, the location of the house on the map that is associated with the listing is wrong. When booking we oriented ourselves at the location on this map, from which it actually is less than a kilometer from beach. However, the house is located in reality at a different location, almost 2 Km from the beach and further outside the center. This is misleading and factually wrong!!! In addition, the garden is not maintained, the tiles around the pool are so slippery it is a health hazard to be here with kids and older folks. The kitchen is small for cooking, the fridge is small and cumbersome to use (door doesn't open easily, difficult for kids and older folks) equipped with cheap IKEA utensils that are completely useless for quality cooking. Dishes are insufficient as well, one has to run the dishwasher after each meal to have sufficient dishes. The bakery close to the house is permanently shut so one has to travel by car to get breakfast in the morning. Only one of the bathrooms has a real shower, the other has a tub in which one has to shower kneeling down not to inundate the bathroom (no shower casing or curtain!!), very inconvenient especially for kids or older folks and this was also not appropriately described in the text. Communication was rather slow and house is hard to find and very difficult to navigate by car through a small alley in which you have to travel backwards by car to get out of it, very cumbersome with a normal family car. There are insufficient towels, especially when considering the super slippery floors outside and inside the house. The beds are cheap, probably the cheapest IKEA quality one can find and super uncomfortable. One of the bedrooms has no windows except a roof top window. The pool needed to be cleaned by us and the cleaning machine run every day for 2 hours which was cumbersome as well. Given the inaccuracy of the description, cumbersome interior, rather slow wifi, and rather long distance to center, shops, and beaches (15mins by car, 25 mins by foot) this is over priced and not recommended. We regularly stay in VRBO homes and have appropriate comparisons to make this statement.
