About LINDEN OLSON

We are partially retired farmers from extreme southwest MN. While on vacation in AZ we found this area to be a refreshing change from the grassland prairie we have lived in for most of our lives. Warmer in the winter than MN and cooler in the summer than southern AZ this scenic area offers many attractions and activities for those who like hiking, sightseeing, shopping, rock climbing, simple relaxation or any number of other individual or family interests.

Why LINDEN OLSON chose Arizona

Nestled among tall Ponderosa pines this cozy log cabin offers something for everyone whether it is for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation; a get away or escape; or a cozy place curl up with a good book or to come back to after a day of hiking in a forest, desert or mountain setting; antiquing; horseback riding; mountain biking; skiing; boating; shopping or sightseeing. Eat in one of a variety of good area restaurants or prepare a meal using our fully equipped kitchen and/or gas grill. Get a refreshing night of sleep in a good bed in a quiet area. If you are in the right place at the right time you may get a glimpse of some of the elk, deer, squirrels, birds, coyotes, javelinas or other wildlife that inhabit the area. Enjoy antiquing or/and looking at artistic creations in Strawberry, Pine, and Payson. Want more? Take a day trip to Sedona or Jericho. Need something? A scenic 19 mile drive down Hwy 87 lies Payson, AZ, a town of 17,000 that offers most of the services of a large city including shops of all kinds, antiquing, golfing and seasonal activities. Want to beat the heat in the summer? Strawberry is about 20 degrees cooler than the valley around Phoenix.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful cabin. My boyfriend and I were looking to get away from the valley for a couple of nights. This cabin was perfect for the two of us and our dog Rowdy. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch, seeing the stars at night and the neighboring horses. Charlie was very accommodating and gave us plenty of recommendations for hiking and antiquing. The pizza place "meat pies" in Pine he recommended was awesome! We will be coming back in the next few months to hike Fossil creek and hopefully, will be staying here!

Family spring break

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much for the cabin rental - we had a wonderful spring break with the kids! It was great to have separate bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone and a washer/dryer for all of our hiking clothes. The books and games were great for the kids, and we loved having a picnic dinner on the patio. Charlie was very helpful and personable - a great introduction to the cabin and the town of Strawberry. We managed to do quite a few things within an hour or so from the area, including the Meteor Crater, Painted Desert/Petrified Forest, Fossil Creek Creamery and Tonto Natural Bridge. Again, thank you for the great vacation - next time we're going to check out your other cabin!

Cozy and Inviting

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I booked this trip to get away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Phoenix. It was the perfect getaway. We enjoyed the fireplace, seeing the stars at night and the crisp weather. The cabin had most everything we needed, indoors and out. Charlie was there to greet us when we arrived and if we had needed anything it was nice knowing he was just a call away. We tried the new woodfired pizza place in Pine, Old County Inn. It was delicious! We loved staying here and will be back (probably later this year...to hike Fossil Springs Trailhead) (-:

Bro Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time hiking and attempting to fish. Great cabin feel and location. We had to go to Old County Inn and That Brewery twice while we were there. Pleasantly surprised at all of the dining options. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time! The cabin was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We deciphered the symbols on the walls and went on an amazing adventure to find "One-Eyed" Willy's lost pirate treasure. With the money we made from the jewels in my marble bag, we were able to save the Goon-Docks from becoming a golf course!
