About Edin & Melody Wells-Minthorn
We purchased our property here in Bozeman, Montana in October 2012. We are originally from Iowa City, Iowa. We took this family photo in our yard! The mountains surround our property, such beauty.
Edin & Melody Wells-Minthorn purchased this House in 2012
Why Edin & Melody Wells-Minthorn chose Bozeman
When we first looked at this property it had been vacant for 15 years, everything outside and inside the homes and barn were from 1987 and everything was BLUE..... Blue carpet, blue exteriors, blue countertops, blue and pink flower wallpaper, it was a blue nightmare. My husband is a carpenter, so we felt we couldn't pass up these breathtaking Bridger Mountain views! We decided to buy it and then we spent the next two years gutting both homes out and doing a complete remodel. The end result is just fabulous!
What makes this House unique
One of the things we appreciate most about our ranch (other than the breathtaking mountain views) is the peaceful country feel, yet so close to town! Being only 5 miles from major shopping, activities and restaurants in Bozeman makes this the perfect spot!

Great, quiet rural setting with abundant wildlife and awesome views, but just minutes from town!
The house was very well appointed, and clean. Kitchen had everything you need and the bonus room was a great place to visit or watch the game. We will be back and we will stay here again.
Amazing location and property!!! I would highly recommend this place if you're staying in Bozeman!!!!
beautiful house and surroundings, everything ready for us and Melody was on hand for any queries, we loved everything about it and the area is so beautiful, so quiet yet only a short drive to downtown Bozeman
Thanks so much for everything, and recommend enough all perfect!
Our family loved this getaway. Beautiful and quiet location, it was perfect. The kids were able to play outside and we enjoyed the sunsets. Thanks for a great stay!
Beautiful location, nicely furnished home, exactly what we were looking for
A Fabulous Affordable Find in Peaceful Surroundings but still Central to Bozeman!
We have reluctantly returned home, after spending a fabulous 6 nights at the Roost - we were a party of four (2 adults and 2 teenagers) and I highly recommend this property!
Situated just outside Bozeman, the home is close enough to the comings and goings of Bozeman, but also peaceful and tranquil enough for those wanting a break from city/town life. It took us approximately 10 minutes to drive into Bozeman, with maybe another 5 mins on top of that, if you are heading to the historical centre of the town. It's a very easy drive!
We primarily used this house as a base for skiing/snowboarding, visiting the local slopes of Bridger Bowl (25 mins), Big Sky (approx 1 hour drive) and Discovery (approx 2 hours from the house). We enjoyed the drive to the latter two ski resorts and had our best powder day at Discovery - don't forget to buy a cookie, if you make it there!
We enjoyed dining at 14 North (the steak was excellent!) and Open Range. We also enjoyed breakfast at the Feed Cafe on our last day. There are plenty of restaurants to fit all budgets in the area.
In terms of the house itself, it was well stocked with all the basic essentials, comfortable beds and plenty of seating for all. Yes, there is only one bathroom, but this wasn't a problem for us.
The owner, Melody, was a delight to deal with and communicated frequently and quickly by email. I am so glad we chose this property, it was an escape for us, and the stars at night are amazing, without the glare of the city lights. Oh and watching the deer outside, was also an added bonus!
We will be back soon....missing it already.
We are one mile from Middle Cottonwood Hiking trail in the Gallatin National forest. We have 360 degree breathtaking mountain views from our property. We offer relaxation and peaceful surroundings, yet we are only a five minute drive to major shopping and wonderful local restaurants.
