About Geri Throne
Ray and Geri Throne moved to Central Florida from the Northeast over 40 years ago and have never regretted it. Geri, a journalist and writer, spent her childhood summers at the Jersey Shore and never outgrew her passion for the ocean. Ray is a financial advisor and an avid boating and fishing enthusiast. They both appreciate the freedom that Florida's climate provides for enjoying the outdoors.
Geri Throne purchased this House in 1985
Why Geri Throne chose New Smyrna Beach
New Smyrna is a laid-back beach town with wide, gently-sloping beaches and ample charm and history. Ray and Geri feel lucky to have found this house. They love its restful atmosphere and location near the water and the heart of town.
What makes this House unique
The house is close enough to the beach to return for food or drink without missing more than a few minutes of sun and surf. An unexpected bonus has been its tranquil backyard, especially in the early morning and late afternoon. Its large scrub oak trees, bent over by the ocean's steady breezes, shade the yard and attract flocks of birds.

Perfect vacation stay- loved it!
We loved our month's stay at The Beachwalk House. It's on a quiet street that's a few minute's drive from a grocery store, bank, pharmacies, and the best seafood restaurant in New Smyrna Beach! And so close to the ocean that you can hear the breakers from the back yard. The house is all on one level and decorated with attractive beachy touches. The kitchen was fully equipped and thoughtfully stocked with spices, etc. and the large dining area was light and bright with a view out the back. The beds were super comfortable as were the sofa and chairs in the living room and there was always plenty of hot water for showers. We sat in the screened porch every morning with our coffee, watching our two dogs playing in the big back yard- it's fully fenced, right down to the ground, so even little dogs can't escape and there are palm trees and beautiful old oaks that give a dappled shade if you want to relax out of the sun. There's also a bbq and an outside shower. A couple of cruiser bikes are provided, if requested, and there are foldable beach chairs to take down to the ocean. We had everything we needed for a perfect vacation and we'll certainly be back!
We appreciate your review and are so glad you enjoyed your stay, Hope to have you return!
Had a truly great stay. Love this house and it's location.
The house has all you need for a great stay. The back porch great for morning coffee listening to the ocean just a block or so away. Back yard is very nice.
The house was lovely and very homey. Everything we needed other then food was supplied. I would highly recommend this home for a wonderful vacation. The home is close to the beach, just across the street. Shopping and restaurants close by as well. A perfect vacation action spot!
Loved everything about the house and yard.
The house is great. Great beach feel to decor. Just an overall great space. Easy drive to all you need. Hope to stay again some day.
So glad you enjoyed your stay, Rhonda. Look forward to seeing you again.
Excellent place to stay. Would highly recommend this place for anyone staying in New Smyrna Beach.
Home Away From Home!
Fabulous place to vacation. We were so happy with our stay at the Beach House. The house was extremely clean and located in a friendly neighborhood. It was great to have a fenced in backyard for our dogs. We will definitely stay here again!
New Smyrna Beach offers water sports, fishing, boat and kayak rentals, unique shops, fine restaurants, bicycling, nature walks, music and art festivals, the Little Theatre playhouse, art galleries and exhibits. Visitors can learn about the city's historic legacy as one of the oldest settlements in North America at the New Smyrna Museum of History. Visitors in the spring and summer can head for the beach at dark to look for giant sea turtles laying their eggs and hatchlings scurrying to the sea. At the north end of the island is pet-friendly Smyrna Dunes Park on Ponce Inlet. Just south of the city are the quiet beaches of Canaveral National Seashore, a 57,000-acre pristine park set between the ocean and the Indian River. Indian River Lagoon Park offers a scenic trail and fishing dock on the banks of the Indian River.
Day trips abound. It takes little more than an hour to reach Orlando's theme parks, including Sea World, Universal Studios and Walt Disney World. Historic St. Augustine and Kennedy Space Center are an hour's drive away. Can see launches go up from the nearby beach. Only 20 minutes away is Daytona Beach and its famous Speedway.
About 35 minutes away are cool spring waters where you can swim, snorkel and scuba dive: Blue Spring State Park, where manatees gather in the winter, and DeLeon Springs State Park, where a rustic restaurant lets you cook your pancakes on a table grill.
