This is the second time we rented from Bob and we absolutely love the house! Mormon lake is one of our favorite vacation spots! Great views and location! You will not be disappointed! Bob is wonderful to work with. He responds quickly and is very accommodating! No doubt we will be back!
Lots of room and friendly owner.
It was a very special weekend for us at Mormon Lake as we were having our daughter’s wedding at the lodge.
The house was perfect for the bridal party to stay in, just wish the beds upstairs were a little more comfy.
This property is very nice and everything we needed
We enjoyed our stay at Bob’s Home. He is very responsive by text for any questions you have. House is very large. Would be nice if there was WiFi available but other than that everything was perfect for our large family.
Nice location, average accomodation
We rented Bob's house for a month while training for a bicycle race. The location is very nice if you don't mind being 30-40 minutes from town (which worked fine for our purposes). However, the house could use some updating to make it a really nice place. The kitchen dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, were meager and not in great shape. The dishwasher did not work, and although we were there for a month, and he had already known of the problem, it was not replaced while we were there. That meant hand-washing everything, every meal. The much-needed ceiling fan over the den area did not work even after changing remote batteries and trying every combination of switches possible. We also saw a mouse inside the cabin several times. There were plenty of linens, but all were somewhat old and unmatched. The beds were NOT comfortable, and the master bed was very squeaky/noisy. Although we didn't use the other bedrooms except for a few nights that friends joined us, they are not great for other adult couples - one has only 2 double beds and a twin, and the other "bedroom" is not a room at all, but an open loft with a double-sized cot-like bed.
The next door neighbors are very nice folks and have a couple of horses. However, they are very close, and the flies (and smell, if you mind horse smells, which we didn't!) can be a real problem when sitting on the deck if the winds are blowing from that side.
The good points of the house are that it is in a very quiet area even though it is close to neighbors. It is s short walk into Mormon Lake Village, where there is a restaurant, a pizza place (summer only), a market, a fishing pond, a bison enclosure, and a small playground. The deck on the house is very nice for sitting on since the weather is almost always nice. The bathrooms have been updated and are nice.
We were quite excited to see thousands of elk out in the flats of the dry Mormon Lake bed almost every day for our entire month!
We enjoyed our stay despite the few issues mentioned, and the high altitude training paid off - my husband and I did well in our race!
Disappointing! Our first visit to Mormon Lake!
I wouldn’t classify this property as five stars at all! Needs improvements on their uncomfortable beds, unfinished loft area and outdoor furniture. Very loud inside because of the high ceilings. You’ll only have one Master bedroom the other bedroom is for sleeping six and has shades that let the sun in! When we arrived the refrigerator wasn’t cooling down but Bob was helpful in suggesting getting ice or unplug and replug may reset, which it did! Couldn’t use the dishwasher, had to wash by hand so we had enough clean silverware to feed 10 the next day! On a positive note the bathrooms are beautifully done and there were plenty of towels for us all. So I guess keep in mind you are in a very rural area and don’t have high expectations!
Great family retreat
My family loved the cabin, porch was fantastic! Thank you for making us feel at home.
