About Jeanine Farrell
We met one the Greyhound bus travelling through North America and have been married for forty years. Jeanine is from Amsterdam and John is from Winnipeg, Canada. We have lived in the Twin Cities for many years including more than thirty in this home. We are avid field trippers in our beloved Twin cities, and know the ins and outs of local eateries, watering holes, theaters, festivals and special events. We love hiking, biking, swimming, museums, movies etc and will be delighted to share our information with you. We use VRBO ourselves and know first hand the importance of welcome hospitality, while honoring our guests' privacy. We are on site to help you with anything you might need and hope to make your stay and enjoyable as possible.

Why Jeanine Farrell chose Kingfield
Located close to Minneapolis' famous chain of lakes, Uptown, and just a few blocks from the Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway, one of the country's longest continuous systems of public urban parkways. Lake Harriet is just around the corner, connected to a peaceful bird and wildlife sanctuary and a beautiful rose garden. The neighborhood boasts an impressive range of world restaurants- Spanish, Cuban, Vietnamese, Mexican, Asian, Middle Eastern and Malaysian cuisines. We are a mile from Eat Street, an international smorgasbord of restaurants. A 20 minute walk to Uptown which has great shopping, art movie houses, and terraces with great happy hours. We live near 5 Farmer's Markets- and not too far from the Saint Paul one! Two personal trainers -Thai Body Work and Pilates -live down our street, they're wonderful! There are a handful of trusted babysitters ready at a moment's notice. KingField borders fabulous Linden Hills, a charming small shops 'village' on the other side of Lake Harriet, Lyn/Lake, another great urban gem full of dozens of innovative restaurants, comedy/improv club and movie theaters; Eat Street, the name speaks for itself, is a handful of blocks north from your apartment. Uptown, offers all of the above. Aforementioned Grand Rounds bike path leads you to the Mississippi river, our unique Minnehaha waterfall fed by fast moving Minnehaha creek- all complemented by more restaurants!

Two Thumbs Up!
If you're coming to Minneapolis, this is a great place to stay. Jeanine is very communicative and helpful - she was always available, and was especially good about giving us tips for fun things to do and places to go. She was very generous, always going the extra mile to make us comfortable. The accommodations are quaint and extremely comfortable. No detail is overlooked. She keeps everything well-stocked and super clean. It's located in an area that is close to neighborhoods only locals would normally know about; it's also close to Harriet Lake, which is amazing. We will stay here again!
Extraordinary upstairs apartment!!!
This place exceeded my expectations by quite a bit!! Very comfortable, roomy apartment with lots of class!! Owners were very easy to work with!! Wonderful in every way!!
Very Lovely Property for A Minneapolis Visit
This property is clearly a labor of love by the owners, and their close attention to the finest details and choice of amenities is evident. However, it is not mentioned anywhere in the listing that the rental space shares common space with the owners. Given their otherwise fine attention to detail, I think this omission is intentional. The actual set-up was alluded to several days after booking in a long follow-up email from the owners outlining logistics, the area, activities to do, etc. (". . .we live downstairs, and once you know your approximate arrival time, we could greet you at the front door."). Honestly, this detail did not catch my attention because I don't look at these logistical emails until I am ready to leave for my trip. I was spending a quick mother/daughter weekend in Minneapolis with my mom to celebrate my 50th Birthday. I expected we would be in the same living space, as the listing states it is a "2 bedroom vacation home". The property is two levels; the owners live on the ground level and the VRBO property is the upper level. Both the owner's section and the rental portion share a common downstairs entryway and staircase up to the VRBO property. The VRBO property consists of an apartment with one bedroom and all the amenities as described. The second bedroom is a stand-alone unit not connected to the main unit, and has no bathroom or open access to the main unit. Think of two hotel rooms a few feet down the hallway from each other (and one without a bathroom). I don't think the hallway issue would have been a problem for us if we had our own private, self-contained rental space, but our comings and goings between our two rooms were open into the common entry area below. This made me and my mom uncomfortable. I am sure lots of people would have been fine with this, but we definitely would not have chosen this property if the layout was more clearly described. The good news is that the owners were great about respecting our privacy, and also helpful in getting our luggage up the stairs to our area. I would not recommend this property to anyone who is uncomfortable with steep stairs. There is a picture on the listing showing the staircase. I really wanted to love our stay, as the actual units were top-notch, the area beautiful and the price very reasonable. I just think full disclosure up front is important to having happy guests.
Thank you for taking the time to outline our lovely unit! You are correct, so far, no one has ever found this separation to be a detriment, in fact, many guests have like the extra privacy this offers. Our Victorian era home has 9 + foot ceilings, and its typical 16 steps up to the 2nd floor, has a slight curve, maybe a challenge for these guests, and I am sorry for that?! Overall, sounds as though you had a fabulous time...thanks for choosing us, happy fall,
Jeanine and John
