About this property

Beach Block Living in Charming South Rehoboth

Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Rustic Charm. Space. Privacy. Location, location, location.

Experience gracious Mid-Atlantic beach house living in a cottage filled with whitewashed beadboard, planked floors and broad, comfortable porches. This rustic, rambling, almost-century-old home (built c. 1928, it's the oldest structure in blocks) has everything you want: historic charm, modern amenities, and a prime location just steps away from the beach and South Rehoboth’s historic boardwalk.

The two-story Main House sleeps six with three bedrooms, one den, and one and a half baths. It features a broad screened-in front porch, an open floor plan, and a versatile kitchen suited for snacking or entertaining. The back deck provides alfresco dining space and an oversized hot tub perfect for relaxing with friends in shaded privacy. And the fenced-in back yard is a beautiful tree-canopied haven for an afternoon in a hammock, a game of croquet or a relaxing, outdoor shower under the open sky.

The converted Carriage House comfortably sleeps four to six with one large bedroom upstairs, a living area that can sleep two with a kitchenette downstairs, and one newly renovated bathroom. Just steps away from the Main House back deck, it provides a secluded escape with private access off the fenced-in yard.

And you won’t find a better location in South Rehoboth. Silver Lake is 50 yards to the west, and the beach and boardwalk are 100 yards to the east, giving you easy access to the Atlantic Ocean and downtown Rehoboth’s myriad dining and entertainment options, just a 10 to 15 minute stroll away.

Both the Main House and the Carriage House are dog and cat friendly for friendly dogs and cats.

Experience Rehoboth Beach the way vacationing families and friends have done for generations. The house is available year-round for select weeks. Please note that in order to avoid weekend traffic, our house generally rents from midweek to mid week. During the 2024 season, that will be Wednesdays to Wednesdays. In the off-season, we offer renters some flexibility, however, so contact the owners should you care to reserve different move-in/move-out days.

We provide bed linens and towels.

Rehoboth weekend
We enjoyed our stay very much. The location - just a few houses from the beach on one side, and Silver Lake a few steps away on the other side - cannot be beat. Plenty of outdoor space. The house is comfortable, although the bathrooms are old, tight, and in need of a good clean. Very dog friendly, which we appreciated. The house needs some updates and could use some attention, but it has great bones. Overall, we recommend as long as you aren't looking for luxury. It's fully functional with an older beach-cottage vibe.

Nice place to be
It rained all week but we still had a grand time. The house was conveniently located to the beach, it was clean and the beds were comfortable. There was a screened porch so we could still be 'outside' without getting wet. Best of all, the yard was fully fenced in for my little dog so I didn't need to worry about escape when she went out. The host was available and helpful, I'd def stay at this house again.

Soooo many wonderful extras!
There are so many wonderful things to say about this property and the owners! We've stayed at many beach homes over the years and this one had more extras than all of the others put together - linens, towels, books, games, beach toys, beach chairs, beach umbrella, bikes, food to share, paper products, and more. The dogs loved the fenced in yard! Grandma's favorite spot was the Hot Tub and we all enjoyed the front porch. The short walk to the beach and boardwalk was also fantastic. The house wasn't dirty, but was certainly "lived in" and could use some updating. But at the price point, was definitely worth it!

Why they chose this property

This 90-plus-year-old gem has great bones--and you'll see them when you stay with us. Exposed ceilings, original wood floors and beadboard, and authentic fixtures when we can preserve them. We're always working on some home improvement to keep up the house, choosing one or two projects a year. As a true beach house, with pets and kids always welcome--and always coming in and out--you may notice some occasional dings and scratches. We consider them the "patina" of age that comes with any true "Grande Dame."
