A beautiful wraparound porch was recently built, that goes with the the stairs that take you and your guests directly to the beach to enjoy! Watch the sun set while sitting at edge of the bluff on the lawn chairs, or enjoy the fire pit outside! There is also a BBQ grill on the porch, along with a outdoor lawn furniture to fully enjoy the outdoors.

Lawson's beach stay
Overall the stay was very nice especially the location on the beach. there were just a few items that needed attention or to be fixed ie: broken dining room chair, Oven smoked really bad (probably needs a good cleaning)...etc... The host was very friendly and available to help with any issues that popped up. It was also nice that we were able to bring our two sheltie pups as they are also part of our family. We had a great time walking on the beach and watching the young eagles steal food from the seagulls and looking for shells on the beach. The sunsets over the mountains were spectacular. There was plenty to do around the area and was not a far drive from food or stores. Plenty of fishing in the area if you like to do that sort of thing so it made a nice base camp for day trips like going to Homer. We also enjoyed battling the mosquitoes in the evening as we sat by the fire in the fire ring in the back yard.

Beautiful location but…
I planned this trip for my 50th birthday. We arrived at the house on the evening of my birthday. The beds and two of the rooms did not have clean linens. In one of the rooms there were bodily fluids and pubic hair on the sheets. The bathroom had also not been cleaned and the floor was a covered in dirt and pubic hair. And this meant that instead of celebrating my 50th birthday with my friends and family, they very kindly spent their evening cleaning the house so that we all felt comfortable sleeping that night. The check in process was also very frustrating. I messaged and emailed the owner of the property multiple times that day to check in and get access to the house. I also contacted her regarding the state of the house. We received no contact from her until the next day. We were able to find an open door and get in the house but we did not receive the code for 24 hours or more after our scheduled check-in . The location and grounds of the property are beautiful. We enjoyed the views and wildlife immensely. While we got off to a rocky start the host was more interactive as the week progressed. However, a maintenance man came into the house without any warning. We never heard from her about the visit. Finally, the kitchen was very poorly equipped for our group of five. There were only three coffee cups and very little cooking or eating utensils available. The fridge smelled like someone had stored fish in it.

Inaccurate listing
Needs level flooring, needs decent furniture: (bed mattresses are sinking, extremely small tv in a living room a family can NOT sit together in due to lack of furniture & space) this was not Pictured in the listing! stairs scare us because the feet can barely fit on each step, Bath tub unusually small, shower curtain smelled bad, tub could not hold water. There was stunning sunsets & GORGEOUS views out the windows; & beautiful outdoor areas. We stayed for a long visit. & grass needs to be mowed. Owners were extremely nice.

About the host

I was born in Soldotna and my husband was born in Nome and we love living here and raising our children. We are both Alaska Native and love to enjoy the land we live on. We hunt, fish and try to spend time outside. We enjoy hosting because we have a lot to offer our guests and they bring much joy to us, as they are always in great moods and it is great to hear.

Why they chose this property

I love being on the water, listening to the waves come on the beach. The sunsets here are amazing. It is a quick easy walk to the beach and I always love finding agates.

What makes this property unique

Our property is right on the beach with stairs that take you there. Our house was a homesteader home and the original owner worked for the canneries just down the road.
