Three bedroom, 1.5 bath, great outdoor shower and amazing screened porch!

After much planning, we began renovating this wonderful historic home in September 2016 and completed the project in time for the 2017 summer season. The current photos show the new entryway, reoriented interior staircase, refinished floors and renovated kitchen (which is absolutely beautiful)! New Bosch appliances (including a dishwasher), refinished floors, granite counters, hand dyed subway tiles and a wall of Marvin wood windows that fill the space with natural light. Bosch under-counter washer and dryer provide extensive counter space and an expanded feel. Upstairs you'll find a completely renovated and expanded bathroom with 18' exposed wood ceilings, 6 high windows and one full length window bathe this space in natural light. There is a large custom marble and glass shower with polished nickel fixtures. An antique chandelier completes

this space.

We could not be more pleased with the final result and our guests in 2017 were as well. We worked very hard to preserve the charm and historic integrity of the home while adding modern conveniences and updated amenities.

This classic victorian farmhouse is located on the first lot sold when the area was first incorporate in 1877 as the town of Sea Grove. Recapture a simpler time and place while creating loving memories that will last a lifetime. This historic home has three large bedrooms upstairs. The master has a king bed, a Bose clock radio, and a Samsung SmartTV. The larger guest room has a double bed and a new twin with an extra twin mattress underneath the twin frame. The third bedroom has a new queen mattress and frame. All of the beds have comfortable bedding and pillows and room darkening shades that allow for an excellent night's sleep. Downstairs, the kitchen has a coffee maker (and french press), toaster, blender, food processor, iced tea maker, Bosch appliances (gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator and under counter washer and ventless dryer), professional Cuisinart cookware, granite countertops and custom cabinets, including a pull-out pantry to store your food. The large living room has all new furnishing, including a slipcovered sofa, loveseat and chair, and new coffee table and side table. A nice selection of books for reading, cards, and boardgames are available for guests to enjoy.There is also a Smart TV in the living room. The large dining room has a farmhouse table that accommodates larger parties. Check out the scrapbook containing some of our favorite places to visit, dine and shop - it can be found on the coffee table in the living room. Step out the shutter doors from the dining room onto the very large, beautifully furnished screened porch - truly one of the best porches on the Island. Eat, rock, and play cards while listening to the ocean waves. Lighting strung on the porch is set on a timer and provides light in the evening. The house has central AC/heat and a new tankless water heater. The over-sized lot has beautiful plantings, a large outside shower with rainfall shower head and hot and cold water. A Weber gas grill, bicycle rack , 2 bicycles with bike lock and outside clothes line can all be found in the back yard. Three beach chairs and an umbrella are also available for guests, along with 6 beach tags.

About Christine Carlson-Glazer

Having grown up in the area, my husband and I know what a special place the Point is. We left the area to attend college and graduate school and employment opportunities landed us in the Princeton area. Soon after our oldest was born, we purchased our Point home and, while we live in Princeton, our hearts are in the Point.

Why Christine Carlson-Glazer chose South NJ Shore

The Point is a small area to begin with, just 0.6 square miles, and when we began looking to purchase a home, our search area was even smaller. We wanted to be close to the circle (and General Store), Lake Lilly (where my husband proposed to me) and St. Peter's (our favorite beach). There were only a few streets we were interested in. We looked for more than a year, just when we turned our attention to other things in life, the home we have now came on the market in November 2000. I was ready to purchase, sight unseen because the location was just PERFECT, but seeing the home and feeling the charm confirmed this was our house. Since then, we have shared this special place with guests, friends and family.

  • The house was built sometime in the late 1800's before electricity or indoor plumbing. When indoor plumbing became available the upstairs bath was added atop the porch roof. The downstairs half bath was tucked under the stairs and was located in the kitchen. Our recent renovations updated these spaces while blending with the charm and character of the house.The outside shower may still be our favorite, but it is a tough call now with the gorgeous new full bath. Looking up at the sky while in the shower...there is nothing like it!

Beautiful Home, Perfect Family Vacation

We stayed in this home for a recent family vacation with our teenage children and adult son. It is a beautiful home, very spacious and well maintained. New bathroom renovation is true luxury at the shore! We really loved the large screened in porch, perfect for gathering for meals, reading, and playing games. Location is also perfect distance to the beach as well as the General Store. My interaction with the owner Christine was always prompt and positive. She even contacted me that the propane tank needed to be filled, and arranged same day delivery during our stay! We will definitely book this home again when we return to the point.

Beautiful house!

My husband, myself and our two young sons stayed here for a week in July. The house was perfect for us and the recent renovations done are phenomenal. It was great staying in an older house but having updated kitchen and bathrooms. We spent most nights and mornings on the large screened in porch. Christine, the owner, was very responsive and easy to work with. She provided a lot of useful information about the house and the area. We would definitely book again next time we go to Cape May Point!

Beautiful and comfortable; convenient to everything

The house has been renovated and it is beautiful. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern yet charming. Everything in the house is lovely and comfortable - especially the beds! The large wrap around porch is perfect to have meals in and relax. There were bicycles and beach chairs included!! I can't wait to go back next year.

My husband, daughter, friends and I had a wonderful stay at Cape May Point. I'd only been to cape may once or twice, but was glad to discover the point, which is more tucked away and relaxing than most shore destinations in the area - perfect for what we were looking for! Christine's house is beautiful, and newly renovated - a perfect stay! As a host, Christine was incredibly helpful, providing insider tips, and very reachable during our stay. When we couldn't find a cutting board one day, she had one sent over to the house within minutes! You won't go wrong with this choice.

Perfect house for the Point

We love this house!

We have been coming to Cape May Point off and on for over 30 years with our family and friends. This house feels less like a rental and more like the house of a favorite aunt or uncle who are letting us use it for our vacation. We received extra TLC in several ways. Ahead of time we got a wonderful note explaining many activities and places in the area to explore. There were some old favorite spots of ours as well as some new spots that we didn't even know about - Lots of good info! And we were generously provided with 2 new adult bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas and beach tags to use during our stay.

The house itself is not a modern, luxurious hotel-like house, but a lovely seashore house that conveys the historic charm of Cape May Point while still supplying the comfort of central air conditioning which we definitely needed on a couple of days. The location was great - a very short walk to the beach and close to the circle. The rooms were all large, bright, simply and nicely decorated, well maintained, comfortable and clean. The house is quite spacious, but our favorite "room" was the large wrap-around screened-in porch overlooking an open lawn and nicely planted garden. This space was set up with very comfortable chairs, loveseats and tables for morning coffee, some of our meals, fun board games in the evening, quiet reading etc. The porch was great!

Our experience with the owner was excellent. She was accessible and professional from signing the lease and reserving our date to returning our security deposit. And she was very available and responsive if we had any questions or problems.

I would definitely rent here again, and recommend it to friends.

Great comfortable house close to all beaches. Everything you need is there

We had a great vacation at this house. The house was clean and comfortable and stocked with everything you need for a great vacation including 2 bikes. The owner provided a great list of things to do around greater Cape May and inside the house were guest books with info on a local restaurants and attractions. The house has old world charm but the central AC was a blessing during a really hot spell this summer. Cape May Point is a hidden gem on the Jersey Shore and this home is the perfect place for a great vacation
