2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment with new kitchen and beautiful garden
About Teri Kelly
This vacation rental is run by two sisters. Teri lives just seven houses away in an 1890's Victorian. Delena lives in Austin, Tx, where she works as a recruiter. We were both born in Kentucky and grew up on Lexington's north side. We, along with Teri's husband, Chris, have recently become involved in the development of the Distillery District by purchasing the abandoned James Pepper Distillery. We built Goodfella's Pizza a space in the old Boiler House, and recently completed work on the NEW James Pepper Distillery. We are currently working on an event space and another vacation rental on TOP of Goodfella's! We became dismayed at reports that hotels are only giving their housekeepers 15-20 minutes to clean a room. This is NOT enough time! Two of us always spend at least two hours cleaning between guests. The report even showed that sheets are not always being changed between guests! Oh my! We very much want to assure anyone who rents our properties that every bed is changed between every guest...even if it appears not to have been used. Every. SIngle. Time. Exactly like we would expect when we rent from others.

Why Teri Kelly chose Northside District
The home is located in Downtown Lexington's second and largest neighborhood on beautiful West 3rd Street. The neighborhood has undergone a transformation in recent years while maintaining it's historic charm. There are many restaurants, breweries, bars and shops opening throughout. We have a heart for historic preservation (this is our ninth renovation) downtown and this is our first short-term rental. We delight in helping visitors to our charming and comfy apartment make the most of their visit to our hometown.
What makes this Apartment unique
The Garden: The garden is incredible. Not being talented gardeners ourselves, we feel incredibly lucky that a landscape architect rented one of the apartments for several years before we bought the house in December, 2013. He spent several thousand hours and hundreds of dollars creating an English garden of winding paths and full, lush beds. It is peaceful and a piece of paradise right downtown. All we had to do was dig it out since he had moved out and it was neglected for several years. The Location: Certainly the biggest selling point of our property. We are located in Lexington's largest Historical neighborhood. While our block still has a ways to go, renovations are happening all the time. Guests can walk to several restaurants, bars and breweries in five minutes or less. They can walk to the heart of downtown or Rupp Arena in 20 minutes. The furnishings have been partially culled from area estate sales over the past year and partially bought new. The resulting look is a contemporary renovation, with vintage and casual furnishings. We wanted our guests to be able to cook for themselves if they wish. The kitchen was stocked with all of the basics and we and our guests have added items over the years. If guests find they need anything they are encouraged to contact Teri...she is only a few houses away with her own well-stocked kitchen. Teri and her husband have spent a few nights there when their own home is rented, and have absolutely loved it. We are confident our guests will too!

A perfect stay
I could've been more pleased with my stay. Every necessity and more was provided. The room were appointed in an appropriate and stylish manner. The location lends itself to a variety of food choices, and it is an easy walk to the downtown area.
Close to Transy
We stayed at this property while we moved our son into Transylvania University. Perfect location to campus and walking distance to several restaurants and Gratz Park. We look forward to our next visit.
We loved this property and its location. Was there for two weeks at the horse show at KY Horse Park. The house was in a fantastic location, easy to get out to the horse park and close to a number of great restaurants, the movie theater (we saw two movies) and the wine, cheese, sandwich shop around the corner. A number of our favorite restaurants within walking distance. I walked to the Saturday Farmers market and purchased our fruit and veggies for the week. The apartment upstairs was clean, well equipped and just perfect for us. Owner is easy to work with and no fuss. Great place, we will return!
Barbara: Aww. Thank you so much for giving a shout out to our awesome neighborhood. It has really been through the ringer over the past 120 years and as recently as 20 years ago it was still getting lots of criticism. It's nice to know that the efforts of all the homeowners are paying off! So glad to hear you visited the farmer's market for your weeks' veggies and visited some of our locally-owned restaurants. Thank You and please come back soon!
Comfortable and Convenient!
Enjoyed our stay at this property! A friend and I were in Lexington to celebrate her birthday. After an afternoon on the Bourbon Trail, we were happy to check in to this lovely apartment. We had our choice of restaurants to walk to for dinner and enjoyed a stroll afterwards through the lovely neighborhood of beautiful homes. We had everything we needed, including a fine selection of bourbon glasses!
Great stay! Easy communication with hostess and a really nice upstairs apartment. Close to everything and easy walk to downtown and entertainment.
Thanks Geoffrey! Please keep us in mind for your next visit. We love guests like you!
Great property with great owner
The condo was exactly as described and the photos accurately represent the property. Condo was centrally located. Zero issues with owner communications, check-in process and condo cleanliness. Highly recommend!
The property is conveniently located within walking distance of all of Lexington's downtown attractions including Rupp Arena, restaurants, shopping and the Explorium of Lexington (Lexington Children's Museum). An easy two block walk gets you to Jefferson Street, a renovated entertainment district of bars, breweries and restaurants. Or, visitors could make a quick 7-10 minute drive to the Distillery District, Lexington's newest entertainment district.
If you're headed to the Kentucky Horse Park, it's only 9 miles and 15-20 minute drive.
