About Dan and Dawn Pendleton
We have lived in Warren since 1990 after completing school at the University of Maine, Orono. We live next door to our rental house in the larger farm house that Dan's mother grew up in. Dan is self employed as a farmer here working the land. He has maintained his Master Guides license from when we worked at a sporting lodge in Northern Maine where he guided clients and I was one of the cooks. I currently work at one of the elementary schools as the kitchen manager and cook. I was in the banking industry for 22 years. We have 2 children in school that keep us busy and offer lots of help on the farm. Both houses are in the process of being updated. The rental updates pertain to the outside, as seen in pictures. It is in need of some new cedar shingles to match the new porch along with 4 large windows that need replacement.
Dan and Dawn Pendleton purchased this Farmhouse in 1995

We loved staying at the farmhouse, surrounded by the farm. Laura loved coming in to fresh flowers, our daughters greatly enjoyed canoeing on the lake twice. Our dog had a wonderful time romping around on the way down to the lake.
We had only a short visit, but it was everything that we wanted in terms of feeling refreshed and relaxed afterwards.
Rustic Farm House Retreat
We really enjoying staying at Dan & Dawn's farm house. It was a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle of hotel living. We were able to spread out and have lots of quiet time. We were fortunate that the weather was slightly cooler the days we stayed there since there wasn't AC it got pretty warm in the evening but with windows open and multiple fans running, we managed. Our kids were pretty surprised to not have TV (no cable or antenna connection) for a couple of days but we enjoyed watching a movie each night as a family (there was a great selection to pick from!) The well water had a pretty significant sulfur smell and taste but we used bottled water and filter water was provided. The highlight of the stay was going out on North Pond (a pretty rough and bumpy trail to get to). It was so much fun to canoe and paddle boat out there. We felt like we had he place to ourselves. Dan and Dawn were very hospitable and I would certainly stay again, just during a cooler season.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay on the farm and look forward to you visiting again. The weather was beautiful while you were here. Great breeze most of the time to keep things cool. The property details state that there is no A/C or cable television. Free Wi-fi is provided. It's about a 10 minute walk to the pond from the house. The road is for tractor access, nothing fancy. The water has a slight sulfur odor, it is safe and has been tested. We lived there for over 15 yrs. with no issues. It was a pleasure to meet you.
This lovely little farm house sits on top of a hill and overlooks acres and acres of farmland. We were there in early August and everything was green with growing crops. Remote yet accessible it is not far from necessary conveniences and only about 15 minutes from the beautiful seaside town of Rockland. The property is very well stocked, very clean and well maintained. The owners clearly care about their guest’s experience even during times of heavy booking. No A/C but we were lucky enough that the night cooled off nicely to make sleeping quite comfortable. Large stock of DVDs and I can say that “Walk the Line” was even better the second time.
Thank you for the wonderful review. It was a pleasure to meet you. We are glad the accommodations worked well for you. Come back and stay again.
Great spot in the Mid-Coast
We had a lovely time at this house and particularly enjoyed canoeing on the lake! Don't miss Beth's Farm Market, McLoon's Lobster Shack, or Harjula's Ice Cream!
Fun in Maine
We enjoyed the quiet and the farm. Dawn and Dan were friendly and helpful. We loved visiting the small towns with our friends and the natural beauty of Midcoast Maine.
Couldn’t be better. And already recommended it to close friends who will be staying there next week. Thanks to our wonderful hosts Dawn and Dan.
