Why Please contact Cheryl Loudon for booking inquires or any additional needed info. chose Green Turtle Cay
The owner chose the island of Green Turtle Cay after having travelled the Bahamas in his sportfishing boat from Walkers Cay all the way south to Rum Cay and has seen port of calls in most all of the major and smaller islands in the entirety of the Bahamas. Green Turtle Cay is a very quiet, very safe and secure location without all of the hustle and bustle of the major islands while still offering more than adequate amenities and also provides plenty for everyone in the family to do.
What makes this House unique
This house was designed and custom built by the owner in 2007. The construction of the home exceeds Dade County, FL building codes and is designed and constructed to handle a category 5 hurricane. The house provides 100% generator back-up, automatic start and stop that will operate everything in the home in the event of a power outage as well as a back-up water supply. There is a VONAGE phone line, free wireless internet and Premium Direct TV.

Great family vacation!
We really loved staying at the Bee Hive. There was plenty of space for our family and we especially enjoyed the view and location. The kitchen was great for making meals. Would recommend this house to anyone!
Bee Hive in Green Turtle
Great house; spacious and clean. Terrific kitchen. We could not figure out how to work the stereo speakers with the TV, but we did connect phones via Bluetooth with the inside stereo.
We have just returned from 9 glorious days at Bee Hive.
Last year we checked out the island, staying at Green Turtle Club, with our son (16) and loved the island. This year we returned with our son & our 2 post college daughters. We decided to rent a house and Bee Hive was perfect! It is right on the harbor with a lovely view of White Sound, next to the Bluff House marina. It's a very easy walk over the hill to their beach and The Tranquil Turtle Beach Bar.
The house is well appointed and very comfortable. The kitchen is lacking nothing! In addition to the fridge in the kitchen, there is an additional one in the laundry room. There is an electric range AND a gas cooktop! We found everything we needed for those nights that we chose to cook in. The grill on the screened porch was great! In the living/dining area there is plenty of space for everyone, very comfortable for movie nights (great selection of DVD's and cable/satellite access). My husband & son got to watch the early stages of March Madness, which was important. The sound system, inside & on the screened porch deck is outstanding!
In the listing it mentions the generator. We didn't think we'd need it, but there was a big storm one day and within 30 seconds of the power going out, the generator kicked in. Except for Wifi interruption (which on vacation is not a bad thing), we went on very happily until the power came back on.
If we had any negative things to say (these are more suggestions than complaints) all of the pillows on the beds are really, really firm. It might be nice to have a few fluffier pillows in the closets as an option. The pool deck is outstanding, all that is lacking are a few lounge chairs on the deck for days you wanted to hang at home but be out by the pool. There are 2 dining tables with umbrellas and plenty of seating, but no lounges.
As for Green Turtle Cay, we LOVE it! As I said earlier, this year we came with the whole family, and everyone agrees, this is now our place, we have found it! We are not big island or resort people. We have been in search of a place that our kids would like to come, bring friends, and eventually their kids. This is it! It is a small and charming island. People start to look familiar...locals and visitors. We have met a few families through excursions with Brendal's Dive Shop and just around town in the past 2 years & we are still in touch with them. There's plenty for all ages, and an island night life if you want one!
Beautiful property, immaculate and super comfortable in every way
Home away from home with all the conveniences you could imagine. Immaculate and spacious. I would definatley stay here again and recommend to all of my friends.
The best house near Bluff House
We really enjoyed the house. It is a spacious, well maintained home with a fantastic view of the Bluff House marina and white sound. The screened in patio and pool are a huge plus. We look forward to coming back!
Hello Todd! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! Thank you so much for your review and we absolutely look forward to your staying with us again Next summer!
The Bee Hive is located on White Sound, adjacent to the Jolly Roger Restaurant and Bar and the Bluff House Marina. The Treasure Cay Ferry landing is walking distance from the home. The ferry is the best way to access the island upon arrival, by plane in Treasure Cay, and you will be greeted and taken to the home with your luggage and will be completely familiarized with all of the amenities provided. For diving or fishing excursions the same dock is available and is within walking distance. The home is also within walking distance to dining, drinks and a gorgeous beach, which faces the Sea of Abaco. This particular beach is very tranquil and loaded with docile sea urchins and marine life with minimal current for swimming and snorkeling. The Bluff House Marina, also walking distance, has boat slips for nightly, weekly and monthly rental, if you have a boat. Harbor mooring is also available.
