Lower condo, 3 Bedroom 2 Bath, steps to slopes, sauna, wood-burning fireplace
My husband and I are flatlanders from Nebraska, but have always loved to ski--mostly in Colorado. When we retired we set out to find the perfect ski mountain. We visited different slopes in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana.
Cynthia purchased this Chalet in 2005
Why Cynthia chose Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort
Big Mountain caught our attention as we experienced excellent skiing with no lift lines, friendly folks, and the perfect chalet duplex right on the mountain. We stay in the upstairs unit with our two hunting dogs, Stilton and Storm several weeks each season, renting it out when we are elsewhere along with the lower unit year-round.
What makes this Chalet unique
We love sharing the experience of living in a private home on the mountain in walking distance to the village, the slopes and all the winter and summer activities. Come stay--you'll love it too!

Nice old unit
Older place for sure but awesome location and was clean.
Good bang for your buck
Our property manager did everything she could to make sure our stay was comfortable. This place has a lower and upper unit. We stayed in the lower. It is a bit loud when the folks upstairs walk around or use the dishwasher. There was also a problem with the plumbing that was taken care of but the musty smell never went away. Overall the price is amazing and the place is super comfortable. If you want a place that won’t cost an arm and a leg in the summer/winter season, this place fills that bill.
Probably be a great rental for winter, but it's a bit far away from GNP, which is where we were heading most days. It's about an hours drive to GNP, so if that's your destination, this might not be the best rental for you. Cheap price, but definitely an old property (like everyone else has said). It had an odor the whole time we were there, a bit like a cigarillo.
Did not realize the tenants above would be able to get into the front door to access the laundry and sauna; not the lower level interior though.
It's an easy drive to Whitefish and the main highways.
Could have done without a mouse making an appearance in the kitchen the last few days we were there.
Visiting Glacier Nat Park.
We were looking for an area with 2 three bedroom places for two families and this was perfect for that. I would have liked to have been a little closer to the park entrance (1 hour drive) but the prices were reasonable. This unit could use some maintenance and updating but was clean and spacious.
Getting to the West entrance of Glacier National Park (34 miles) takes 47 minutes according to Google Maps. We've done it in 40.
Great location, close to the mountain. Plenty of space. Owner was easy to get a hold of. Sauna was nice and linens were clean. Would definitely stay again.
Comfortable beds. Good view from kitchen living room of some of the runs. Deer grazed on the propert
Plenty of room in kitchen and living room.
Glacier National Park's West Glacier entrance is 33 miles from the chalet.
