This approx. 2000 sq. ft. just renovated and artistically designed 3-br row house unit is located on one of the most private and quiet street in the historical District of Mount Pleasant (right by the east entrance to the National Zoo, 10-12 min walk to metro).

Convenient to Convention Center (2 metro stations away), AIRP (S2/S4 direct buses short walking distance from us), Adams Morgan entertainment zone with restaurants 7 min walk from us, Dupont, Kalorama, Zoo also within walking distance.

Original cathedral ceilings with beams and arches carefully preserved over the last century combined with eclectic art-deco elements, such as original art and lighting, tile murals and wooden decorative elements added in the process of recent major renovation, recreate the authentic style of the house built originally built in 1917. Numerous skylights fill the house with bright light.

Fireplace available for use in January-March, creating unique winter lodge atmosphere for your stay.

The home features 3 spacious bedrooms on the second floor: the master bedroom with a vaulted ceiling overlooking the historic neighborhood, tall 3-sectional windows in the second bedroom and a spacious third bedroom ( both overlook the small garden in the back of the house).

The first level of the home has a generously sized living room with a fireplace, a banquet-sized dining room with beautifully refinished original cherry-wood trim on the ceilings, a large breakfast/family room with a large bay window and terracotta tile floors (the first level of the house looks like a huge apartment by itself which accommodates 2 guests!) Because of the 1st floor layout (not one living area but 3 large separate rooms, one with a sliding door and a half bath), the house can sleep up to 8 people. There are two fully renovated two full bathrooms with marble floors, murals and Grohe fixtures on the second floor with skylights; a third half-bath on the first level. A modern kitchen with granite counters, marble backsplash and stainless appliances with all necessary equipment opens into the breakfast area. The breakfast area extends onto a vast summer terrace/deck/garden in the backyard. The house also features designer lighting throughout, wide halls on both levels and plenty of storage space. Street parking. Washer and dryer on site. Wireless internet, Netflix capability, cable TV with HBO. Hardwood throughout.

Renters staying for longer term will be able to obtain residential parking permit for our zone. The damage deposit for stays longer than 20 days is $400. Fireplace usage is subject to $50 clean-up fee charged against the guest damage deposit.

Guests are not expected to do any cleaning, but instead to treat the property with reasonable care following basic sanitary rules, and avoiding damage to fixtures and appliances. Kindly notify us immediately of any damages/malfunctions discovered upon arrival, in order for us to ensure proper maintenance and good quality services for all future guests. The guest is responsible to the host for any damages that may arise as a result of his stay according to vrbo policy.

The basement area is not included in the rental.

Spacious and comfortable

We stayed here in April of 2018 and found the property suited our needs perfectly. Spacious floor plan with all of the amenities that we needed.

Master bedroom was very comfortable and had wonderful natural light.

Location is great - a quick walk to the metro stop.

We had four adults staying in the unit, but would be completely comfortable for a larger group.

Great DC place close to the zoo.

This is a great place to stay and served us well. We had 5 adults stay for a few days and we really enjoyed walking to the zoo. It had all the amenities we needed and was in a good neighborhood. Would stay here again.

Clean and quiet!

So close to the zoo and a great walk to the metro. Everything was clean and ready for us as promised. Easy to Uber back and forth into the middle of the city. Great stay!

Not as good as the Description made it seem

We stayed here for 5 nights with our family of 5. We were disappointed in our stay. There was a lot of noise during the night from the street and from the neighbors all around the property (even behind the home). The 3 bedroom property has one TV in the living room with limited channels. It has limited towels and old and very inexpensive furniture and furnishings. The pictures on the listing are somewhat misleading. The two larger beds were very uncomfortable and hard and difficult to sleep in. When we had to wash towels after the first round of showers, we noticed a sign stating no laundry to be done after 9pm, which is tough after a full day of touring the city. We found ourselves re-using day after day the low quantity of towels and wash rags. Also, I’m not sure where one could buy such thin and cheap toilet paper that was in all these bathrooms. We had to first thing drive to buy some better TP. There are no restaurants or grocery stores within walking distance with small children. We enjoyed DC but are not likely to stay here again.

Owner's Response: This review is a retaliation at the noise complain filed at this guest by our neighbor. None of the review notes are factual or true. Our past guests left factual reviews that reflect the high quality of our accommodation and the central and quiet neighborhood, 11 min walk to metro and shops/restaurants (also easy to check on google map). The note on laundry room asked for COURTESY to use it before 9pm, as it's a huge industrial size and very expensive facility, that can be overheard at night. No prohibition to use laundry facility ever existed at our property ! Some people expect new release Italian leather sofas and 800GSM towels at rental properties, with location across the White House, but only want to pay a few hundred/night. No host can ever make such a guest happy. We can recommend checking out Trump Hotel rates for these expectations, or be reasonable.

Clean, well-furnished, and in great location. Perfect for extended family, kids, etc.

6 adults and 4 kids stayed for a family wedding. The house had plenty of space and kitchen furnishIngs for meals, but also close to good restaurants, etc. We had a great stay, and used a mix of Metro, Lyft, and walking to get around.
