Overview

About the property

Cottage WITH NEW PONTOON BOAT, AC, Dishwasher, Granite, Washer/Dryer and More

Our Cottage is very secluded and the last cottage on this side of the lake. New 2018 pontoon boat and Internet and Cable included with your stay. Great location for fishing and boating and visiting nearby attractions. 3 bedroom, 1 bath cottage on 1,300 acre Pickerel Lake on its own secluded bay with a brand new pontoon boat included in the price. Sleeps up to 8 or 9 people. We are very close to the water. You’ll love our place because of the ambiance, the outdoors space, and the tranquility and privacy of this place. The place is good for couples and families (with kids).

There is a nice driveway area and three steps that take you down to the yard area along the water’s edge where the fire pit is located. We have over 51 acres and over 2,500 feet of frontage on Pickerel Lake. The majority of the bay is part of our property. The privacy of this place is amazing. We are over 200 feet away from the lightly traveled Pickerel Lake Road. The cottage is tucked back by the lake and you cannot see the road from the cottage. We have 2 docks. The main one has an L and bench for sitting and a pontoon boat. The secondary dock has a canoe with paddles plus the row boat. We have a fire pit and dry/stacked firewood available in a storage shed.

The cottage has about 1,000 square feet with 500 square feet downstairs and 500 upstairs. One room has a queen bed and a double bed. Another bedroom has one queen. The loft bedroom is a walk through bedroom with the TV, love seat and a day bed (twin bed) that has a trundle underneath (another twin). There is also a full sized couch downstairs which is a memory foam sleeper/sofa. The property is on the NW corner of Pickerel Lake on its own private bay. It is between the town of Pickerel and Mole Lake. It is northeast of Antigo (25 miles) and South of Crandon (20 miles).

NEW FOR 2018: We are replacing our pontoon boat with a BRAND NEW 2018 MODEL Montego Bay Fish and cruise pontoon boat for use during the 2018 boating season (FROM APPROX MAY 1st - OCTOBER 20th). This is a 22 foot boat with a live-well, 90 horse 4-stoke Mercury motor, fish finder, 27 gallon fuel tank, bimini top and seating for up to 12 persons. In May of 2017 we installed a BRAND NEW ELECTRIC BOAT LIFT - just lower the boat with the key fob and head out onto the lake. Lots of room to fish off this boat or enjoy a ride around the lake. The new boat is being built but is very similar to the blue boat pictured here - VERY SHARP looking boat. Our rental rates are competitively priced at $1,200 to $2,400 per week during the boating season. For comparison, if you were to rent this pontoon boat alone, it would cost approx. $250 per day or around $1,400 per week (without a cottage included). Bundle and save money.

Pickerel Lake is about 3.5 hours from Milwaukee and Madison. Cottage was Completely Rebuilt in 2014 and is right on Pickerel Lake within 20 feet from the water's edge. There is a great deal of privacy since we are tucked back over 200 feet away from the lightly traveled Pickerel Lake Road. Fire pit, propane grill and laundry onsite. Available year-round for fishing, boating and swimming in the summer and snowmobiling, ice fishing and cross-country skiing in the winter. We are on the ATV route and Snowmobile Trail.

Swimming is available at the end of our dock. It is about 4 feet deep and is somewhat sandy there but also with muck and weeds nearby. We have a swim ladder at the end of the pier. Larger areas to swim are available on Pickerel Lake with a short boat ride. There are also some nice beaches located at nearby lakes.

The cost for renting the pontoon boat is built into the price of your stay BETWEEN 5/1 AND APPROXIMATELY 10/20. Winter rates are much lower. The Pontoon boat rental is *mandatory during the "SPRING", "SUMMER" and "FALL" rental seasons and must be rented for all days that you are staying.

*We may consider rental of the cottage without the pontoon boat (and discount the rate appropriately) in the following cases:

1. If you are renting in the fall of 2018 and your rental period does not include a Friday or Saturday night stay.

2. If you are making a reservation within 30 days of your check-in date.

Optional: we have a 15 horse outboard available to rent for $100 per week. This can be attached to the row boat and provides access to Crane lake through the culvert. Please ask if interested in renting this.

We are right on the ATV Trail Route! You can use the blacktop Pickerel Lake road (subject to a 25 mile per hour posted ATV speed limit) to connect to the off-road trails that start approximately 2.5 miles to the west. You can get to the Augustyn Spring trails from there (maybe two miles further-on off-road trails). This connects to the White Lake ATV Trails. You can venture further west and hook up with the Parrish Highlands ATV Trails. Alternatively you can go east on Pickerel Lake Road and connect with the Nicolet State ATV trail. We are also right on the Snowmobile Trail!! Unload your sled and you are ready to venture across the state on your snowmobile. Cottage is equipped with two heat pumps (for air conditioning or heating) and a propane furnace for optimal comfort all year round.

About Dan Gresch & Mike Gresch

Our family worked together to completely rebuild this cottage in 2014. We have been vacationing on Pickerel Lake since birth and decided to buy a place of our own.

Dan Gresch & Mike Gresch purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Dan Gresch & Mike Gresch chose Pickerel

It is very secluded and the last cottage on this side of the lake. Great location for fishing and boating and visiting nearby attractions.

The main dock extends from the deck out over the water. It has an L section and a Bench for sitting. The pontoon boat is located there. The secondary dock is where we have the canoe with paddles plus small fishing boat.

Swimming off the end of the dock and other spots a short boat ride ride away.

We have a fire pit and dry/stacked firewood available in a small wood shed.

The cottage has three bedrooms and it sleeps up to 8 or 9 people. It is about 1,000 square feet with 500 square feet downstairs and 500 upstairs. One room has a queen bed and a double bed. Another bedroom has one queen bed. The loft bedroom is a walk through bedroom with the TV, love seat and a day bed (twin bed) that has a trundle underneath (another twin bed - also called a murphy bed). There is also a pull out couch downstairs with a Double MEMORY FOAM mattress.

The property is on the NW corner of Pickerel Lake on its own private bay. It is between the town of Pickerel and Mole Lake. It is northeast of Antigo (25 miles) and South of Crandon (20 miles).

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage comes with a brand new Pontoon boat, on-site laundry and sleeps up to 8 or 9 people. It is a nearly new building as it was completely rebuilt in 2014. Great views of the lake and good fishing right off the dock.

Beautiful and Peaceful!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is just as pictured, well maintained and stocked with everything needed for a relaxing vacation. It would be hard to find a more peaceful and quiet location on a lake. We enjoyed the beautiful pontoon boat and lake views everyday. The cottage is so close to the water that it almost feels like being in a house boat!

Nice cabin on a nice lake

  • 4 of 5

Very nice cottage on a beautiful lake. Amenities were very nice also. The boat was a really nice perk but the lake is shallow and this time of year the weeds are pretty thick, making boating a bit of a challenge. We mostly fished off the dock, catching primarily bluegill. Bait shop is nearby and has a good selection. Lots of eagles and loons. Grandkids cried when we left. They want come back next year.

Family fun

  • 4 of 5

Overall everyone had a good time. I would say the cabin was more of a 2 bedroom than 3. The middle room was more of a common area. But it was stocked well and was perfect for our home away from home for a week.

Disapointed in the lake far as fishing goes, too shallow and weedy, my son had to go to neighboring lakes with his boat to fish. But the dock area was cleared and the grandkids had tons of fun swimming.

Family had a great time!

  • 5 of 5

We had 4 adults and 2 kids 17 and 12. We fished off the dock and the boat. We caught pike, sunfish, bass, catfish. We also pulled a tube and swam off the boat. The boat is awesome. It has a live well, places to hold your poles, a stereo you can Bluetooth your phone or listen to the radio stations, a top if you want out of the sun. We did 200 miles of trails and roads on our ATV's and Side be Sides. We rode to several other towns and had lunch. Also went to Shotgun Eddy's and did their whitewater rafting. The first drop is 7-8 ft. It is exhilarating if you never have done anything like that before. This isn't guided you are on your own. Wear your life jacket.

Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

This is our third year staying here for our annual "Unplugged" vacation and we had another awesome stay! The new pontoon is definitely an upgrade over the previous boat and we took it out several times a day for tubing, fishing, and swimming. Other upgrades new this year are satellite TV and wi-fi, but we didn't use those very much since our goal was an unplugged vacation. (We didn't even tell the kids that the owners added wi-fi this year, but they noticed the router on the kitchen counter the last day. haha!!). We lucked out with great weather this year, but the TV and wi-fi would be great to have for rainy days.

Besides the pontoon outings, we also swam off the dock and our son took the kayak around the bay a few times to fish. Lots of panfish caught in the bay, and quite a few large mouth bass and Northern from the pontoon around the lake. Thanks for another great stay!

Great place on a great lake!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week on Pickerel Lake. The house was very clean, the pontoon was beautiful, and the owners were very helpful with any questions that arose. Overall, we recommend this place as a great getaway for anyone looking for a place "up north", right on water's edge.

We also had a blast fishing on the lake (best luck on the shorelines and around the islands), and we also fished the culvert down the road from the cabin, and Wolf River- which is about ten minutes away. If you get a chance, make sure to stop by the scenic Wolf River. Fishing was great (use spinners for smallmouth and trout) and the rapids were incredible.

We also visited Antigo several times to stock up at Wal-Mart, as well as a day in Rhinelander, where we ate at CT's Deli (GREAT food) and then had a few beers at the brewery down the street.

Thanks again, Dan, we really enjoyed our stay!
