About the property

Welcome to the Ozarks! The 'Pine Knot' cabin is located between Kyles Landing and Steel Creek- the Buffalo River access points. It overlooks the western bluff of the most popular rock climbing destination and full service guest ranch in the Midwest- Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. Its proximity to the Ranch and the Buffalo National River make this the perfect place to hike, climb, float, and enjoy all the beauty of Newton County, AR. Jasper and Ponca have Buffalo River concessionaires that rent rafts, canoes and Kayaks. As guests of the Pine Knot you are invited to utilize the swimming pool and hot tub at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. You will need to check in at the HCR Trading Post to get a wristband. This cabin has all the comforts of home. It sleeps 4 with a queen bed and two twins in the loft. Our cabin is fully furnished with linens, towels, and bedding. The kitchen has everything you need: refrigerator with ice maker, range and stove, dishwasher, microwave, blender, and coffee pot. The kitchen is equipped- just bring your groceries and an adventuresome attitude. There is a charcoal grill (you’ll need charcoal) off the back deck with a great view while grilling. Pine Knot features a dining room table that seats four. For your convenience this cabin also offers HD satellite TV, local phone service, and WIFI. Check out the Zip line and adventure packages at Horseshoe or enjoy some other great Newton county excursion and then come back to your cabin, snuggle in, soak in the view and sort out the day.

Jasper is the County seat with a few good places to eat, fuel, and a small supermarket. The Pine Knot cabin is close to the Buffalo National River, the first designated national waterway and thousands of acres of National Forest land. Hiking, canoeing, kayaking, photography, wild-life viewing and leisure activities abound. The Elk center at Ponca and the wildlife museum in Jasper are great rest day activities and something else to see when your legs need a break. Historical sites that tell the story of early settlers to the region are within quick driving range.

Whether you are hiking Indian creek, floating the Buffalo, exploring the beauty of the Ozarks or Rock Climbing and Zip lining at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, Pine Knot provides clean and comfortable housing for your stay and is centrally located to all the activities Newton County has to offer.

Just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Pine Knot was the perfect place for a long weekend! After seeing that other cabins were located right off the road, we were so glad this place was secluded and so peaceful! The Wifi and Direct TV were also a nice touch since our phone service did not work there. We cooked all our meals and the kitchen had everything we needed! Being able to sit on the back porch and watch the sunset and deer was just awesome! Thank you for your hospitality! We will be back!

Cute, clean, cozy, simple cabin! Great location.

  • 4 of 5

Stayed here for e weekend with my mom and 2 tween girls. Had a great time hiking and ziplined at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. Cabin is very close to my favorite buffalo river hikes. Easy acccess off hwy 74. Cabin was clean and simple. Just what we needed after hikimg and eating at low gap cafe and ozark cafe. Perfect for a group of 4!

It was clean but they didn't have anything extra. No salt and pepper, throw blankets, dish towels.

Cozy Cabin for 2, secluded yet great jump off point

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin!, Everything you need without all the fluff, very clean. Away from all the hustle and bustle of Horseshoe ranch but you can do anything they there (very accommodating). Great location if you want to get away from it all yet great jump off point for anything you would like to do. Cafe's in Jasper (8 miles) are great and Low Gap (2 miles) has a Cafe that is truly surprising. Lots of trails and kayaking points within 5-35 minutes away (Whiter's point, Triple falls, etc..). The girlfriend and I loved it, only thing is bring your own dish soap and their dish TV can be spotty, but that is so minor its hardly worth mentioning. Highest recommendations and we will definitely be visiting again in the future!

The stay was great but I will note that he satellite was not working. It was no big deal for us but may be for those with some down time while staying there.
