Why Jannelle and Andrew Bailey chose North Saanich
This is a desirable location that is a great home base for island exploration. It is a hub to many modes of transportation, land and sea. Popular with hikers, cyclists, Eco-tourists. We love the natural beauty.
What makes this Apartment unique
Our home is tucked into the trees. Rural but conveniently close to all the amenities of town. Wake up to the birds in the morning and go to sleep with the owls at night. The ocean is a short walk across the road where visitors can see a multitude of birds, otters and sometimes orca whales.

Quick stay before a flight
We had a quick stop before an early morning flight. This suite is super cute and the owner was amazing! Thanks!!
A delightful B&B in a quiet neighbourhood. Cozy with wood beams and trim, unique art and fresh flowers. Plenty of space for our party of four. We met our host, Janelle, and she gave us a tour of the suite. There was everything we needed and more.
Wish we'd had more time!
We made a short side-trip to Victoria after an Alaskan cruise and stayed at Janelle and Andrew's for two nights. The cozy apartment above their garage was in a beautiful setting that felt like it was in the trees with its peaceful setting and wildlife. Janelle was on hand when we arrived to explain everything regarding the apartment, and she also answered our questions about what to see and where to eat during our brief time in the area. When she found out we were in search of sea glass, she recommended the places to go in the area, including a small beach near the apartment, which was a beautiful place to go for its own sake, even though we didn't find a lot of glass there. I ended up finding some nice pieces at Glass Beach in Sidney, but was delighted when we discovered that Janelle had left a bag of sea glass for us before our departure. So very nice and thoughtful! We also spent some time in Victoria and, of course, visited Butchart Gardens, which was breathtaking. We also took Janelle's advice and had lunch at the Stone House Pub. It was a very cozy place with good food. The provided breakfast was simple but adequate, with delicious homemade jams and muffins. Thanks to Andrew and Janelle for providing such a nice place for us to stay and for your hospitality! We just wish we'd had longer!
The location is great! Beautiful - trees and ocean, such a perfect combination. Very nice property owners, and the apartment is really nice! The bed was very comfortable - I only wish I'd had time to enjoy the whole place more. With a very early flight, though, I had to get up about 3 a.m. - but proximity to the airport made the drive easy.
Short and Sweet
We arrived after dinner and left at 4:30 in the morning, but the owner greeted us when we arrived with banana bread. What a great welcome! The bread, apples, and bananas were great fast food for our rush off to the airport in the morning.
I wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the property more. We didn't have time to explore but I know it's close to Salt Springs island, Butchard Gardens, Beaches, and 30 minutes from downtown Victoria.
Beds were very comfortable!
We had such a warm welcome from Andrew and Janelle to their lovely home. Very comfortable and lots of space to make ourselves at home. Thanks for the generous provisions in the fridge and cupboards and especially for Janelle’s delicious homemade scones! Very useful local information- we loved exploring the Saanich peninsular and had a great local whale-watching tour- saw a pod of orcas!
Address: 952 Woodcreek Place, North Saanich, BC V8L 5K4 Canada.
Woodcreek is found at the tip of the Saanich Peninsula on beautiful Vancouver Island. This is a great starting point for exploring all the peninsula has to offer. Beach combing and trails for hiking are within walking distance or a short drive away. It is just a 10 minute drive to Sidney by the Sea, 30 minutes to Victoria, BC's provincial capital, and 15 minutes to world famous Butchart Gardens.
Like the outdoors? Charter a sailboat to explore the coast or hire a fishing guide if you want to try halibut and salmon fishing. There are air tours from the airport. Or enjoy the ocean on a whale watching tour. This area offers excellent cold water scuba diving. In the summer you can pack a picnic and take the passenger ferry from the Sidney Government Wharf to Sidney Spit Marine Park. It’s great fun for the kids.
From here you can access the BC Gulf Islands, the US San Juan Islands and US Olympic Peninsula in the Strait of Juan de Fuca by air or ferry. From Victoria there is daily ferry service to Port Angeles Washington and foot passenger ferry service to Seattle.
