Exit before Pezenas, towards Montagnac, Mèze 10 Kms. Arrival in Mèze on the right up to the marina. By plane airport of Fréjorques Montpellier at 30 Kms. Alternatively, you can also fly into nearby airports of Béziers, Perpignan, Carcassone or Nimes.
The gateway to the Mediterranean, Meze is a delightful little town in the South of France 30 minutes from Montpelier Airport, with a wonderful harbour and lots of narrow winding streets. It is situated on the 'Bassin de Thau. There are small beaches to both sides of the harbour, which are clean (won awards for this), and the water is shallow, ideal for children. Take lunch at one of the many excellent restaurants surrounding the harbour, where you will find some of the most wonderful seafood dishes. If you need to walk off your lunch then stroll up to the 15th century church or visit one of the many shops and stalls selling coquillage (shellfish), wine or clothes.
Nearby into the foothills, you find Roquebrun with its serpentine hump-backed bridges over the sweeping middle reaches of the River Orb, and Olargues - recently voted one of France's five most beautiful villages. As if the wine, food and architecture weren't enough, the region boasts numerous excellent golf courses, including Golf Saint-Thomas.
