Good location; House needs work
The property is in a good location for exploring Yosemite and the local coffee that was provided was appreciated. However, the quality and condition of the house needs improvement. Many bulbs in recessed and fixtured lights did not work. Safety issues included very hard to open sliding glass doors, tripping hazard rugs, broken shower handle, unstable toilet, and a poorly cleaning dishwasher. The ice maker on the frig did not work and no ice was provided, after bringing this issue to the attention of the owner. And when using the hot tub, the water was clean but a good amount of dirt was on the bottom. We were disappointed....

Secluded in the woods
We loved the house- very accommodating. We enjoyed the hot tub every night, beds were comfy, filtered water machine, huge back yard, big kitchen, and good TV. A few negatives: only 1 burner on stove worked, older grill, fan in main bathroom is very loud, no Kleenex, can’t use fire pit. But overall, we loved it!

Cheryl grew up and raised her family in Mariposa, and is the proud mother of two and grandmother of 13 grandchildren. Most of her family resides in the Mariposa area. Cheryl is well known in the community and has worked for CAL FIRE for 20+ years. Chris has always had a knack for entertaining people and was a guide for Salmon and Steelhead fishing on California's most pristine rivers. As a guide his sole mission was to give his customers a once in a lifetime experience that they would remember forever. We are approaching the vacation rental business with the same goals. We want you to have everything you need, so you don't have to worry about the little things and can focus on your vacation itself. We will be here to help you with anything you need.

Why they chose this property

This beautiful property has been in our family for many years. We built The Whispering Pines House in 2001 so that we could be close to my Grandmother. Now we are choosing to share our scenic home with others and provide them with a wonderful vacation spot in our beautiful country we are proud to call home.

What makes this property unique

Our property provides the peace and serenity of the mountains and we are thankful to call this our home. If you sit outside and just listen or look you will hear the birds singing and you might even see a deer, fox, turkey, or possibly a bear. Over the years we have seen them all. The town of Mariposa offers small town quaintness with its unique shops and local history. The surrounding areas, including Yosemite, offer many outdoor adventures and you will never get bored here if you enjoy the outdoors.
