Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

The property made you relax from the instant you left the road down the path with freshly mowed grass, then once to the cabin the view was stunning, will be back for sure.

Excellent Vacation Stay

  • 4 of 5

Bryan, our stay was excellent, my wife and I enjoyed ourselves tremendously. We saw deer and turkey in the yard again it was a very relaxing stay. The cabin is well appointed and very clean, we had everything we needed for our week here. Only negative comment is the BED! It really needs to be replaced. Overall this is a tremendous place to get away with the family and not be bothered by the noise of the world! Thanks very much, we may be back in the future if we find ourselves in the neighborhood again!

Thanks Bryan

Sincerely,

Todd and Mary Beay

Beautiful, peaceful, and cozy.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is modern, fully stocked with all that we needed, and also in a rural peaceful location with a beautiful view. It was clear that the owners are very conscientious about making it cozy (firewood, charcoal for the grill, balls for children, a collection of DVDs). We appreciated the air conditioner, and also the nice front porch, and the washer and dryer.

We repeatedly visited: The Trappist “Abbey of Gethsemane” (20 minutes away) where monk/author Thomas Merton lived (the monks have a very nice visitor center with large gift shop and bookstore, and film and mini-museum about their way of life) and we attended the monks chanted prayer. We have read several of Thomas Merton’s books (mystical spiritual masterpieces) on “contemplation” prayer and it was great to see all the other Trappist Cistercian monks in their chapel chanted prayer times.

We also visited the two Abraham Lincoln historical sites (20-30 minutes south) that are owned and operated by the National Park Service (there is a visitor center at the birthplace site just south of Hodgenville). One Lincoln site is the site of his birth and the other site is where his family lived when he was 2 years old.

Lastly, we visited the charming historic Town of Bardstown (30 minutes north east) that has several museums and many historical buildings.

perfect

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time we have stayed at this place. Both times we found it to be both relaxing and very peaceful. The home is always clean and well afforded with amenities. It is on a beautiful peace of property located outside of any town, but close enough to get what you need. The deer and turkeys are plentiful to watch. This has always been my favorite home to stay at with wonderful views.

Perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

What an awesome, relaxing, and centrally located in the middle of nowhere vacation rental. We started and ended each day on the front porch overlooking the farm and enjoying our quiet surroundings after our busy days sightseeing. The history, the horses, and yes, the bourbon distilleries where within an hours drive in any direction! Thank you Bryan!
