Why Dan Crowson chose Minnesota

This is my Grandparents farm, passed from them to my wonderful parents who in turn, allowed me to purchase it. This land is filled with great family memories.

Peaceful and quiet

  • 5 of 5

Loved the Bucksnort cabin. Close to local small towns and the Root River. The spring fed Trout Run Creek on the property would be good forfishing. I, however, enjoyed watching the cows!

Wonderful secluded cabin

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! We stayed three nights and enjoyed a very clean well maintained cabin/property, beautiful scenic landscapes and cows! The trout stream behind the property is very accessible and we did catch fish. The cabin was well stocked with cooking supplies and general necessities such as papertowles and toiletries . For those traveling with dogs, we brought our two and the property is well enclosed so we never had to worry about them running off. We would definitely come back. Perfect for a couples retreat!

Quiet, wonderful views but clearly rustic

  • 4 of 5

The wide open views of the Trout Run valet were wonderful. The setting is quiet removed from the business of the Root River valley. The cabin was a rustic hunter's cabin. No frills but adequately furnished with all we needed. Sitting out on the deck soaking in the natural scenery made up for any frills missing.

Perfect in Every Scenic & Rural Way!

  • 5 of 5

This was my second stay at Trout Run VRBO. For rustic relaxation, this cabin with its trout stream and cattle pasture views can't be topped. The seclusion, solitude, and views from the deck under the shade and sashay of old white oaks is one of a kind. This is my go-to place for reflection and relaxation, along with fly-fishing one of the best trout streams in the state down the hill, both up and downstream, from the cabin.

Map

The Root River Bike Trail is in Lanesboro, which is 7 miles away, or there is also a Root River Bike Trailhead in Fountain, 5 miles away.

No town lights, make for wonderful Star Gazing, with spectacular views on clear nights.

Our campfire ring in the front yard, always has good dry wood available, for roasting Marshmallows and hotdogs.
