This is my Grandparents farm, passed from them to my wonderful parents who in turn, allowed me to purchase it. This land is filled with great family memories.

Peaceful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We rented the cabin for 4 nights. It was clean, quaint, and cozy. We were in the area to go biking, but enjoyed our mornings and evenings at the BuckSnort Cabin. The kitchen was well equipped with everything that we needed. The first night we were there was a little chilly, but the furnace kept us warm and cozy. King size bed was a plus and we were seranaded each morning and evening by a variety of song birds and sounds of Trout Creek. We were able to bring along our golden retriever, who loved running throughout the large pasture and down to the creek. We will definitely rent again.

Quaint rustic cabin overlooking a first rate trout stream.

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed staying at this quaint rustic cabin. This is a fine place to stay if you enjoy fly fishing because Trout Run is just down the hill from the deck of the cabin. One drawback to our stay was that we may have been the first to stay at the cabin this year and there was an odd musty smell to the place. Once the season is in full swing and the place is thoroughly aired out, it may no longer be a concern

Peaceful and quiet

  • 5 of 5

Loved the Bucksnort cabin. Close to local small towns and the Root River. The spring fed Trout Run Creek on the property would be good forfishing. I, however, enjoyed watching the cows!

Country retreat -October 16-19

  • 4 of 5

Such a peaceful, quiet country retreat! Loved the trout stream and also cows grazing all over the pasture. The decor is very eclectic and crazy! Fun to read all the old signs on the ceiling. (Our pups did freak out over the many animal heads on the wall!) Basically a rough, rustic cabin, so don't look for pretty or well-appointed decor!! We enjoyed our few days just reading in the sun, walking, napping, and a trip to Lanesboro for some great ice cream!

Quiet, cozy cabin in a scenic and private location. I'd recommend it!

  • 4 of 5

This is a nice cabin with great view of the pasture and river. Located close to lanesboro for root river trail. Comfortable King size bed. Adequate kitchen for cooking. Small water heater so short showers we're needed but it did work. Good price. Recommended for romantic weekend for outdoorsy types. It is as advertised, and did not disappoint. We plan to be back!

Map

The Root River Bike Trail is in Lanesboro, which is 7 miles away, or there is also a Root River Bike Trailhead in Fountain, 5 miles away.

No town lights, make for wonderful Star Gazing, with spectacular views on clear nights.

Our campfire ring in the front yard, always has good dry wood available, for roasting Marshmallows and hotdogs.
