I'm first generation Italian-American, and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. I currently live in New York City with my husband and son, who is 13. My son and I are both avid tennis players, and spend the summer in Quogue, New York, enjoying tennis outdoors. The three of us are foodies, and take advantage of all the great restaurants in Manhattan. We are also avid movie goers, and Sunday night is typically pizza and a movie, not necessarily in that order.
Vivian Cioffi purchased this house in 2013
I went to Lewes with an old friend because she was interested in purchasing a home in Lewes after having vacationed there. Within moments, I was in love with Lewes. The people are so kind, and the town is charming, with great shopping and GREAT restaurants. I got home and told my husband I thought we should buy a house there. We returned the following weekend, and as soon as I walked into this house, I knew it would be mine. I spent some time there before it rented for the summer 2013, and was so happy walking into town for coffee, or breakfast, running into the shops for flip-flops or a book, and getting to know my amazing neighbors. It is also a quick drive to Rehoboth Beach for boardwalk fun and the outlets for shopping.
It is a historic home, built in 1857, which I renovated in 2014. It is elegant, yet comfortable, a beautiful old home suitable for modern living. You never need your car once you get here, shops, bars, restaurants, market, beach are all just a walk or bike ride away.
House was lovely. Plenty of space and decorated in really incredible fashion. Sparkling clean. Well appointed and beautiful kitchen. Outdoor shower is a great way to wash the beach off before heading inside.
Location is really terrific. Just a couple of blocks to town, great shopping, bars and restaurants and King’s Ice Cream! <5 min drive to Lewes Beach (which is walkable, but we have four kids and travel with a ton of stuff). A small supermarket is also within close walking range.
Vivian is an outstanding correspondent who really went the extra mile to help us settle in and address our needs.
We’ll hopefully be back next year!
"The entire family was thrilled with Vivian's historic and updated home at 15 Church St, Lewes De.
The house was extremely comfortable for six adults and two children to enjoy. Much laughter and fun was had by all. The location of the house in historic Lewes could not be more convenient. We walked only a few blocks to wonderful restaurants and of course each night the kids insisted on King's Ice Cream. (there were a few adults that also enjoyed the ice cream as well).
The canal and beaches were a short drive and of course the Pirate Ship was fun for the kids.
The house had all the conveniences of home. Whatever we needed we readily found in the house which was exceptionally clean. Hot water and A/C worked great.
Vivian responded immediately to any of our requests or need for info. Her courtesy and responsiveness is remarkable.
We look forward to returning again soon to this house and wonderful town.

Vivian takes special care of this property for her guests. She makes you feel as if it is your own during your stay. Couldn't be more comfortable and convenient. We are "returners" and when we go to LEWES, our stay is here.
We enjoyed our stay at Vivian' s Lewes home. The renovations are outstanding making this home comfortable and a treat to stay in. Throughout the home there is great attention to detail and beautiful decorating. We also appreciated that the home is immaculate and well stocked. We loved being able to walk into town (2 blocks,) to the canal front park and to the beach. Vivian was a pleasure to work with. We would recommend this home to friends and family. We hope to return.
We were more than happy with our stay at this beautiful home for our vacation in Lewes. The location was great for accessing, well, everything we could have wanted! We were there with adult children and the house was perfect for connecting with them without all of us being on top of each other. The neighborhood was lovely and quiet. It has been a long time since we have been so relaxed! Vivian was great to work with - even the weather cooperated for the most part! Great area, great home to stay in.
We stayed at this historic home in Lewes for the first time in August. We have rented many homes over the past 15 years that we have been coming to Lewes and this is truly THE BEST home we have ever rented. The home is immaculate. The owner has decorated a beautiful historic home with a flair and sense of style that is rarely seen in rental homes. It was refreshing to have a home that wasn't splattered with starfish and shells (I like starfish and shells, but this was a step above). The location on Church Street in the heart of historic Lewes is perfection. Vivian is a responsive owner and a true professional, as well as warm and welcoming.
You will not be disappointed if you choose to rent this home. We will be back, Vivian!
