About Brenda Lees
My husband and I (married 32 years) and our two daughters, have always enjoyed the outdoors. We dreamed of owning a cabin where we could enjoy our family and our horses. We are both native Tennesseans and put down roots in Middle TN to raise our kids. My passion is equine rescue, and I spend most of my spare time trying to make a difference and educate people on animal welfare. We currently have several equine rescues, as well as several dogs n cats!
Brenda Lees purchased this Cabin in 2012
Why Brenda Lees chose Oneida
Our familly spent the last several years going to different destinations to hit the trails. In 2010 we decided to stay in the GRITS cabin and explore the Big South area. We found ourselves going back to this area, and when the cabin went up for sale, we made the decision we had to have this piece of paradise!
What makes this Cabin unique
GRITS (Girls Raised in the South), is such a great location to enjoy the BSF. Ride from the barn right onto the trailhead, and miles of trails. We love sitting in the hot tub and building a fire when the season turns cool. Sitting on the screened in porch and listening to the bullfrogs and the crickets makes the work week a memory.

Loved grits cabin
Great location, the whole family loved it! Great directions easy to find. Had great adventures from walks down to the creek , to hiking the Twin Arches , to horse back ridding. Had an amazing time. Thanks Brenda
Everything about this cabin, the barn and turnout spaces, the indoor and outdoor living area was perfect for our needs. Plenty of room to be together or spread out. The owner, Brenda went above and beyond to assist us with any and everything we needed. We will stay again and bring more Indiana folks down to see this special area of Tennessee.
Paula, i am so glad you enjoyed yourselves! Please come back and visit us again!

We stayed at GRITS for a work trip that we had in the area. This cabin was the perfect respite to come home to after a long day. Sitting in the hot tub watching college football on the outdoor TV and the outdoor fireplace could not have made for a better weekend. In fact, we were originally supposed to leave after 4 nights and move to a hotel after the majority of our group left, but ended up extending our stay at GRITS because it was so comfortable, relaxing, secure feeling and best of all affordable. Thank you Brenda for being so accommodating and communicative. We are hoping to be back in November for our follow up meeting and will absolutely book GRITS again if it is available.
Love your review Fuller! So glad GRITS worked for your group! Looking forward to going there soon myself. Hope to have you come again soon. Thank you!
Clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable
The cabin was just as advertised. Clean, fully stocked kitchen, clean hot tub. 7 male mountain bikers had a wonderful time. Satellite was appreciated for Saturday football. The cabin was spacious and comfortable.
Thanks Mike! Glad you and your friends came. Hope you will come back for a summer visit! Brenda
My wife and I did not want to leave this cabin. Its very well decorated and well stocked. We loved having coffee on the screened in deck in the morning and watching the deer from the deck before it got dark at night. I dont think our dog wanted to leave either. Since we are atv riders it was nice to have a short drive to brimestone but it would be perfect for people with horses. Cant wait to be able to rent it again. Thanks
Thank you Chris, glad you and your wife were able to take advantage of the July 4th offer. We hope to have you back as repeat guests...i can get you set up on a horseback trip if you'd like!
Amazing cabin with all of the amenities. Very clean and beautiful décor. Everything working and functional. Can't wait to go back!!!
Laura, glad you had a nice visit, hope you were able to ride some good trails with your horses. Hope to have you back when the weather is cooler!
