What makes this house unique

Casa de Flores great location in Taos - close to everything but also on a cute and very historic side street.

Guestbook comments from the owner

David and Lisa-

For years we've come to Taos in August to take in the scenery and culture, and escape 100+ temps in Oklahoma. It never disappoints and neither did your lovely little house! What a wonderful week – never had the tv on! We'll definitely be back!

PERFECT!

  • 5 of 5

We chose the residence mainly for it's location on Ledoux Street. The home, is Taos with its outstanding, both the exterior and interior, New Mexican décor. It is within very easy walking distance to museums, entertainment, the plaza and of course great eats! Thank YOU Helen for making our visit PERFECT!

A wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This beautifully restored historic adobe was our home for three nights. Comfortable, elegant, lots of character, and generously supplied with anything a guest might need. The location cannot be beat! It is a short walk to the Taos plaza and the local grocery store, so you don't have to drive. There is a private parking space for guests in front of the home, which is very helpful. If we return to Taos some day, we will definitely stay in the lovely Casa de Flores!

Lovely and in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

The Casa De Flores was an absolutely lovely stay for myself, my husband, and our little almost-two-year old. The adobe is authentic and beautifully appointed. The location is in the middle of a row of art galleries and is incredibly close to the downtown plaza. It was also very close to a great toy store with a huge playground, which was great to run some extra energy off our little girl!

The flower-filled courtyard in front of the house was also beautiful, and the street itself is very quiet. We enjoyed our time there immensely! I'd highly recommend this home for someone with small kids, as it's one floor with only one step-up (so you are not constantly worrying about a small child navigating stairs).

The only thing we didn't realize was that it doesn't have air conditioning, and we happened to be there on a hot weekend. However, if you opened up the house and allowed the air to run through it in the evening, it cooled off pretty well. We did close it back up when we went to bed, as we weren't sure whether it was safe/okay to leave the windows open at night or not (if you could leave them open, I imagine it would be very cool, as the temps got down into the 40s). They also have many fans in the house which work well. I just thought I would point that out so other travelers who might need air conditioning (for medical reasons) would have a heads up.

Helen, the owner, was great to work with. We will definitely rent this lovely place on our next trip to Taos, and I would not hesitate in encouraging others to do so. You will love it.
