Quaint 3 bedroom farm house on 160 acres
Martha and Margaret Bowman
About Martha and Margaret Bowman
Our ancestors, Irish immigrants, settled the area in 1858. In 1949 our parents bought the farm where they lived and raised a family for over sixty years. Martha moved back to the farm 20 years ago and she and her husband are raising their children in the house across the driveway. Margie lives in Madison, WI with her family and returns often to spend time on the farm.

We LOVE this place!
This was our second visit, as our children could not wait to return after our first visit several years back. We were so happy to be greeted with the same warm hospitality, kindness, beauty, and cleanliness as the last time. This is such a special place, and will always be full of happy memories for our family. Margie and Dan made us a fire one of the evenings we stayed, and we sat around the fire and talked with them. It was just one of the wonderful memories we made that weekend. Do not pass up the opportunity to stay at this beautiful farm!
Idyllic rural setting minutes away from Rochester
Great hosts, helpful and informative. Guided us around the farm, on which we were given free rein to explore. Very close to town, easy to find. Cozy couches and beds, and the hosts' personal touches around the property make you feel welcome.
Best Rochester home ever
We have been traveling every 4 to 6 months to Rochester and by far this was the best home we have rented . Not only was it impecable, but the owners Martha and Steve were so kind at all moments, providing us with their farm fresh eggs, milk and butter. They also were as kind to set up a meeting for my husband to talk to local farmers. My husband is a farmer in Colombia , South America and had always wanted to stay on a farm. We never expected it to be such an amazing experience. We will for sure book it again on our next trip to Rochester.
What a sweet place!
Beautiful home in beautiful setting with great hospitality! What more could you want? Oh yes, beautiful animals, garden, eggs, skies. Did I mention what a sweet place this is? Highly recommended!
Wonderfully, peaceful and relaxing home away from home.
Although this is an old farm house, the owners' description is spot on. We truly enjoyed our stay and will always look to book this home away from home for our future trips to Rochester. The owners are some of the friendliest folks around and seem to genuinely appreciate your patronage and treat you as honored guests, not as a pay check. The home is comfortable and cozy with all the amenities you would expect in such a place. The bathroom is a bit tight, but the overall comfort of the home far outweighs any small inconveniences.
We truly enjoyed our three days and nights. We grilled steaks and burgers and gladly gave our leftovers to Ruby and Loca, the owners' dogs. We also harvested and ate fresh potatoes and veggies from the garden, as well as fresh eggs from their chickens. It almost seemed like we were at our own farm in Texas. Thank you for the hospitality. We look forward to seeing y'all next time.
Quiet, peaceful and relaxing!
Our stay at Irish Ridge Farm was a delightful experience. Martha and her husband were very welcoming and friendly. The grounds were beautiful and the house had everything we needed. If you are looking for a place to relax and refresh yourself, this is the place.
