Comfortable home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We have enjoyed two extended stays at the farmhouse over the last couple of years. Donna and John were very gracious in allowing us to bring our 2 pets (Boxers). They were easy to contact if we needed anything or had any concerns that needed addressed. The home is clean, the beds are comfortable and everything that you may need is provided. We loved walking the dogs around the wooded paths and watching the goats.(2 babies came while we were there :). I really felt right at home!!

Charming house in a convenient location

  • 5 of 5

Our family of six thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in December 2016. I'll break down our thoughts according to several categories that mattered to us.

Location -- The house is conveniently located off the main route between Clemson and Seneca. It's a short drive to the Clemson University campus (it took us about five minutes in off-peak traffic). The house is set far enough back from the highway to where we didn't notice traffic noise. We went waterfall hunting, and there are several noteworthy waterfalls within a 30-minute drive of here. Also, be sure to hike through the backyard and down the trail to the creek and waterfall on the property itself. It's a pretty spot that's definitely worth the five-minute walk.

Cleanliness -- The house was exceptionally clean and fresh.

Amenities/accommodations -- The beds were soft and comfortable, and there was enough space to accommodate my wife and I plus our four children (including two teenagers). Plenty of closet and storage space. Enough hot water capacity to allow us all to shower within a short window of time and not run out of hot water. We had no problems accessing the WiFi. There are hi-def TVs with cable and Netflix in the living room and master bedroom. We didn't cook that much, but the kitchen had everything we needed. We used the basketball goal in the driveway, the swing, picnic table, and firepit. There is also a small stand-up grill, as well as space for front-porch sitting.

Hospitality -- Great communication from the owners. We booked our trip on very short notice, and they were quick to get back with us and had everything set up nicely. They'll be sure to help if you need anything or have questions.

We loved the house, and next time we are in the area we will try to stay here again!

Quaint Farmhouse

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Hackberry.... the beds were comfy, the kitchen well stocked... and the goats a great addition! We were a little skeptical when we first turned into the lane, but Donnas instructions to keep driving led us to a charming little farmhouse at the end of the lane. We weren't able to enjoy the fire pit due to our schedule, and we're disappointed as Donna had so graciously left all the fixings n sticks for smores! Such a sweet surprise!!! A comfy cozy place to stay!!!
