Quaint and comfortable apartment

  • 4 of 5

We are a family of 4 that stayed for a week. You get quite the workout trecking up and down the 70 stairs to the apartment. We cooked a lot there due to food allergies. The kitchen is adequate for cooking. There is a City and Monoprix nearby for any grocery needs. The beds were comfortable. The shower was a tiny hand held wand with barely any water pressure, but it worked and we never ran out of hot water. Our only difficulty was the heat (it was in the 90s all week) since there is no a/c (of course) and no fans. It was very easy getting anywhere either by walking, or by riding the metro. Any questions we had were promptly answered by Stephanie. We had a wonderful time.

A very nice apartment in proximity to the city's heart

  • 5 of 5

We visited Paris for 5 nights and enjoyed the stay very much. The apartment is very close to 2 metro stations with plenty of lines so it is easy to travel through the city and get back to the apartment for lunch without much delay. Though a little crowded, the apartment is built in such a manner that everything has just enough space. The house owner was responsive via email and cellphone and helped us get any trouble figured out quickly, he even had some assistance who were also nice to talk with and was fluent in English. All the house equipment was of high quality and easy to use, they even got it right in the tiniest details such as extra towels, soaps and dishwasher capsules. The staircase was somewhat of an issue but was worth the view of the beautiful church across the street. To sum it up, we really enjoyed the stay and recommend it to families or small groups.

Feels like living in Paris!

  • 5 of 5

Our group consisted of 3 adults, 2 teenagers and 1 child. There is only one bedroom with a bed large enough for two adults, so a group of couples for instance may find a lack of privacy, but it was perfect for our needs. The neighborhood is not touristy, which we loved. Walking one block north you’ll find a little supermarket and a busy retail area, while walking a few blocks south leads to a more pedestrian area (Rue des Petits Carreaux) which has restaurants, sidewalk cafes, bakeries, cheese and wine shops. We ate most of our meals in this area or picked up food there to bring back to the apartment. After a busy day of sightseeing, it was nice to have a leisurely meal “at home”. The kitchen isn’t large, but it doesn’t need to be when your meal consists of fresh market items, and the dining room table seats six comfortably. The stairs were pretty awful at first, especially with luggage, but you get used to the trek; and the church bells can be a bit startling when you’re not expecting them, but we found the apartment to be more charming than not.

We had a question regarding the security deposit and Mme Courtois responded to my email and resolved the problem at once. We would recommend this apartment and hope to return someday ourselves.

The location was perfect, close to 2 metro stops. Gare du Nord was just a couple stops away on the metro line. The apartment was very quiet. We used the church bells that go off at 0800 as our alarm clock. There was plenty of space for the 3 of us. One room had bunkbeds which is perfect for kids. There was a pull out sofa bed in the living room which we did not use. The 4 flights of stairs was a great workout, they were not that bad. I would stay here again.

Charming apartment in a good location

  • 4 of 5

Everything you need for a few days sightseeing in Paris. the apartment was small but big enough for our family of five. It was clean and pretty and had a nice atmosphere. The church bells were a bonus and the street was quiet at night. The apartment is close to a metro and supermarket. The manager was friendly and helpful. Lots of stairs to climb, especially with suitcases but you expect that with old buildings. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

convenient location

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 found this property to be very conveniently located for sightseeing.

It is very close to 2 metro lines as well as Gard Du Nord train station.

The apartment was charming, clean, and the beds were comfortable-although the bunk bed ladder was steep!

We were met by the property manager, and he was very professional and helped us pre-arrange for taxi for the airport on day of departure. (Thank you Guy!)

The washer/dryer came in handy for laundry, and while we did not cook, the kitchen was equipped with basics for simple meals.

Some suggestions are for more/brighter lighting; sturdier curtains, and more towels and kitchen linens.

Overall, this is a fine place as home base for sightseeing. While it is not luxurious, it is a good value.
