A Great Place to Stay

This is our second time staying at the Stone House and we will go back again! Bob is a wonderful host and the house is very comfortable, clean and a perfect place to relax after a long day at Tryon International Horse Center. we hope to pass paths again!

Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

Very beautiful area. House was so cozy. Everything we needed.

Owners left a sweet note and donuts for our arrival. Loved the front porch. Lived on it morning and night.

My only objection was the beds were not comfortable. Other then that an overall great stay.

Well located home with space to relax, plenty of amenities and views.

  • 5 of 5

The owners were very welcoming and available when we contacted them.

We enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing vacation - and enjoyed the house indoors and grounds outdoors. The porch has plenty of places to sit and relax. We spent many a relaxing moment, catching the sun as well as watching birds and deer. We also enjoyed views of the mountains, which are visible from the front porch (and both bedrooms).

The seating arrangements - in the dining areas and living room - were perfect for us to enjoy breakfasts, lunches, dinners and movies.

The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes. I could not find a pizza wheel, but found everything else I desired. The dishwasher worked very well as did the washing machine and dryer.

Internet worked well until the last day or so. We stayed 10 days and the owners were off property - we did not contact them regarding the lack of internet, else we'd probably have learnt how to get it back, but for us it wasn't a big issue.

The bedrooms had ample storage and lighting, there were tons of extra blankets stored in cupboards if required and the bathrooms were stocked with plenty of towels and toilet paper.

We really enjoyed staying here and would stay again. The only thing we would change is the mattress in the master suite as we found it too sunken (old). We tried switching it around, but both ends seemed equally used. Despite this, we rate this a wonderful, 5 star place to stay.

Great Time!

We really enjoyed staying here. The kitchen is huge and very easy to work in. Bob and Jo Ann were very gracious hosts and answered our questions immediately. The house was clean and well maintained. When we come back to visit family, we will stay here again.

All that we expected and more!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This home and property were all that we expected and more. We had an amazing and peaceful weekend at the Rock house. The location is beautiful; with panoramic and breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the front porch. From the back of the house, you over look acres of open fields that butt up to the woods. We watched the deer come into the fields each day to feed, spent time exploring a trail we found in the woods, and after viewed the stars through our telescope. (This property provides an excellent location for star gazers).

The home provides the feel of a cozy old farm house, with all the modern amenities. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals. The covered front porch provides a nice gas grill and an outdoor table and chairs, so you can eat out and enjoy the beautiful views.

It is conveniently located close to so many local attractions, hiking trails, etc; but provides the feeling that you are a million miles from anywhere, in the middle of the mountains. We will definitely being booking another stay here in the future.
