This spectacular home was built by one of the Berkshires' most outstanding post and beam builders, D. Lanoue. The frame, first raised circa 1858 in Duanesburg, NY, was restored and reassembled in 1993. The 42 feet by 30 feet form is hand-hewn of mostly hemlock timber held together with wooden pegs.
In addition, the wide pine plank flooring is from the threshing room of the original barn. Deceptively simple in outward appearance, the interior is beautifully decorated with French Provincial antiques and Primitive accessories.
