Built in 1830, this amazing home has been fully renovated to include modern amenities while maintaining its original architecture and historic charm.

You can relax indoors with the convenience of central air conditioning, radiant floor heat, HDTVs, free wi-fi, and surround sound music from the Crestron home automated system which runs throughout the house. Other features included to make your stay care-free are: a fully stocked kitchen with state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances (dishes and pans provided), laundry room with washer and dryer (ironing board provided), five bedrooms with sleeping for 14 (linens provided), 3 ½ bathrooms (towels provided), and multiple gathering areas throughout the home.

If you prefer to spend your time outdoors enjoying the fresh air and bountiful sights, then this home will not disappoint. You can survey the country scenery from one of the two balconies or wrap around porch, and enjoy the tranquil sound of running water from the Houston Run stream which runs along the property. If relaxation is your main goal, enjoy a dip in the private in-ground pool (open Memorial Day to Labor Day), or spend time lying in the sun on the large patio surrounding the pool. The backyard features a large fire pit, flower gardens, and a swing set for the children’s enjoyment.

Located at the “hub” of Eastern Lancaster County this home provides a peaceful rural atmosphere, while being just minutes from a major highway that can quickly get you to many destinations. Approximately an hour in any direction you can travel to four large metropolitan areas (Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Reading, and Baltimore). While enjoying the picturesque countryside, this property still has convenient access to many amenities. Within walking distance is the Houston Run Community Center, which contains the Shady Maple Cafe, a public library, and the Gap Community Church. For other places to eat within a few miles there is a Friendly’s, McDonald’s, Subway, a local diner, a Chinese restaurant, and several pizza establishments. There are dozens more dining options within a 15 mile radius, including the famous Shady Maple Smorgasbord. For groceries you have a full service store, Weis Markets, approximately 1 mile away.

If you want to do some shopping, within 10 miles you have the Rockvale Square and Tanger Outlets, Target, Kohl's, and numerous other stores.

For entertainment there is the Sight & Sound Theatres, American Music Theatre, Dutch Wonderland amusement park, Strasburg Railroad, Kitchen Kettle Village, hot air balloon rides, horse & buggy rides, and many more PA Dutch Country attractions all within 10 miles. Approximately an hour's drive Northwest is Hersheypark. Downtown Lancaster City is located about 15 miles away and features The Fulton Opera House, fine dining, night life, and Lancaster’s own minor league baseball team, the Lancaster Barnstormers.

the perfect spoiling getaway house!

This house was the perfect getaway for our family of 9.

The location is amazing for relaxation and the views are wonderful! The house is very spacious and fully equipped including a washing machine and tumble dryer and modern kitchen appliances (including a special ice freezer and other goodies for the kitchen lovers among us)! Our group only had 9 people but the house can easily host more!

The house is separately located from other houses around it and you feel you are fully alone here! no neighbors! The surrounding area is just beautiful with a well-kept garden, a pond, a stream and a little sweet playground for the kiddos. There is also a beautiful fire pit to enjoy an evening with friends or just staring at the sunset. The kids enjoy some freshly made S’mores while the adults sip a good glass of wine....

As for rooms, On the upper level of the house you’ll find one master bedroom with a king size bed and a balcony overlooking the pond. That level also has two more bedrooms for the teens in the group and another cozier kind of loft style room with a balcony hosting two extra kids’ beds for a smaller family in size and age of the kids. The lower section of the house had two more beds that were not used but can easily host more guests if needed. The beds were very comfortable! The showers worked great and all was very clean. Bottom level also has a great family room for movies or games.

We enjoyed having our meals in the fancy equipped kitchen on the middle floor as well as a BBQ stationed in the lower floor!

The owners were lovely and very helpful and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return next time we visit the area. The area is very much characterized by the Amish people and carriages, arts and crafts and cuisine. It is close to Lancaster and there is a nice and friendly outlet in the area as well. Hershey's park is within an hour drive too!

Amazing home and location!

We stayed along with two other families at the brackbill house for a week; 6 adults & 7 kids! The house was PERFECT in every aspect. Perfectly clean, perfect bedroom/sleeping setup for all of us, perfect location (convenient to necessary things; i.e. Grocery, liquor sores, etc., close to Hershey Park), perfect property including the creek in the back yard and the pool, kept the kids entertained for hours! We will definitely come back to this gem!

Great farmhouse in Amish Country

We returned to the Brackbill House because of its great setting and abundant amenities. We had a great family reunion (8 adults and 6 children) enjoying the house, pool, grounds and area sites. There was plenty of room for all. The house is well appointed with many top end upgrades. We loved the master bedroom with the enormous walk in shower. All in all a great house for a great stay with the family. We had a small problem with the 1st floor TV which was handled as quickly as possible by Ashley. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Brackbill House.
