We loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic long weekend at River Rose. We were in the area for my niece’s wedding at Durham Hill Farm. We walked our dog every day along the towpath and canal at the rear of the property. The river is right across the street and the deck overlooking it is a great place to sit and enjoy some peace and quiet. There are plenty of restaurants right across the river in Milford and down the road a few miles in Frenchtown. The cottage had everything we needed and the kitchen was well stocked. The hosts are so kind and the treats they provided (coffee, muffins, etc.) were such as nice touch.

We Loved the Barn Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

My wife Camille and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent 3 Night/ 4 Day getaway at Linnea`s and Kevin`s romantically and whimsically renovated Barn Cottage. This was actually our first experience with VRBO and we were immensely pleased with not only their concept but the ease and simplicity of the process. Linnea is a great communicator and prior to our trip she responded to each and every one of my emails in a prompt, timely and very personable manner.

Linnea and Kevin did an unbelievable job in restoring and reviving the charm and character of their Barn Cottage. No expenses were spared in their renovation, they did a First-Class job. A few highlights include;

*We have a large sized Hummer and there was more then adequate parking designated for guests.

*Cottage interior design is beautifully decorated and appointed with well chosen antiques, artwork, gorgeous flooring and color patterns.

*A/C units worked perfect, temperature was ideal.

*Bathroom was spotless clean, hot water was abundant, toilet flushing was strong and bathroom toiletries including shower items were graciously included.

*Mattresses were of the highest quality, sheets were made in heaven.

*Appliances were once again high quality.

I just find it amazing that we experienced such a great sense of cleanliness and spotlessness in the cottage especially considering that Linnea and Kevin allow Pets. We were blessed with the ability to bring our small pets and are so grateful that the cottage owners are so thoughtful and accept full of pets.

I expressed an interest in biking and Linnea was so kind to allow us to borrow her two cruiser bikes. Kevin even made certain that the tires were properly inflated. These are just a few examples of why they have nearly perfect ratings and are so highly regarded and respected.

In closing, it was a pleasure being hosted by people whom are as passionate and caring as Linnea and Kevin. We Loved the Barn Cottage!

We enjoyed every minute of our 4-night stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying at the Barn Cottage for 4 nights this week -- my husband, our nearly-17-year old, and I. It was as lovely as described and pictured, if not even lovelier! The beds are very comfortable, the living space just perfect, and the conveniences really help -- like pool towels; hair dryer and shower and shampoo products; enough dishes, pots and pans and the like to meet any need; a washer/dryer (with soap pods and fabric softener readily available), etc. (We live in an apartment building with laundry in the basement, so the opportunity to do a load of laundry upstairs in the barn before coming home was a great convenience). These conveniences help you to pack light if you want to! The property is beautifully landscaped, and is adjacent not only to the tow path/Delaware Canal for easy walking and bike riding, but is also adjacent to a property with 2 horses and a cow. Lynnea and Kevin's cute pup, Ted, was a total bonus for us -- we welcomed him into the barn cottage everyday for licks and treats and hugs -- though of course that's optional! The pool (above ground, 15 x 30) is steps away and we swam daily -- a lovely respite. Best of all, nearby Milford and Frenchtown provide plenty of restaurants and snack places. We highly recommend The Milford House and The Ship Inn for dinner, as well as Pipolo's (all in Milford -- just a 5 minute drive away). Great bagels and/or sandwiches to order at Bridge Street Bagels in Milford, and groceries (and wine/liquor) can easily be had at the charming Milford Market.

We live in NYC and though only 65 miles from home, the property and the surrounding area is so rustic and lovely that we felt we had travelled much, much farther from home.

HIGHLY recommended, and we hope to be back! Thanks Lynnea and Kevin for a lovely getaway!

A WOW Experience!! We absolutely LOVED our stay!

  • 5 of 5

We have been to several VRBO and AirBnB properties over the year, and we've never had a bad experience, but WOW, did this one exceed all our expectations! Ten Reasons Why:

1. The location was perfect for exploring nearby towns

2. The barn cottage was like living in a dream cottage away from home.

3. The owners made sure EVERYTHING was perfect. They were all-star hosts.

4. The gardens around the property were so beautiful. Flowers, trees, birds everywhere.

5. The Delaware River provided such a lovely setting for our travels along the road ways.

6. The 60 mile canal path accessible from the property was perfect for walking and bike riding.

7. We had several fantastic meals, including Thai food at the Bamboo house!

8. We got the chance to sit down over a glass of wine with the hosts, which we so enjoyed.

9. We had the opportunity to meet the hosts daughter and two felt like we were old friends being welcomed back!

10. We are already looking forward to going back to the Barn Cottage!!!

Cozy, convenient, and charming

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a rental with homey touches & personal attention of a Bed and Breakfast, you'll enjoy staying here. My friends and I rented this charming barn cottage for a weekend. Prior to our arrival, the owners were quick to respond to any questions and were quite welcoming. After arrival, they were equally responsive and thoughtful; they were readily available if we had any needs given they live quite close to the cottage. The barn cottage was ready for us and stocked with extra toiletries, fresh-baked muffins, coffee, plenty of plush towels, soft sheets, and a comprehensive information book. We enjoyed its access to the Delaware River (complete with a landing perfect for picnics), an above-ground pool, and the walking/biking trail running behind the property line.
