About this property

The apartment is part of a patrician palace presumably dating back to 1300, formerly the seat of the Doge Marcello family. For several centuries it has been owned by my family and only 40 years ago it has been renovated and divided into apartments.

It is located in an absolutely enviable and strategic position a few steps from the Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco.

It maintains many of its original beautiful and characteristic architectural elements: the verdant private garden with the characteristic well and the water door, the imposing wooden entrance door to the garden.

Inside the apartment, the high ceilings of over 5 meters with gothic trifora windows and the beautiful "Sansovino" coffered ceiling stand out. The apartment occupies part of the original ancient library and the dining room of the old building.

The house is equipped with effective air conditioning. In the living room, under the mezzanine, two large sofas (one of which is a double bed), a small table and a large flat-screen TV, offer a pleasant relaxation area. The dining area, under the large windows, is part of the living room. Everything is pleasantly decorated with antiques. On the mezzanine, above the sofa area, there is a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a single bed, a baby bed and a wardrobe. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and functional, there is a table for breakfast or informal meals. The main bathroom has a bathtub with shower, two sinks, toilet and bidet. Stairs lead from the entrance corridor to the bright main bedroom with half-moon windows. The master bedroom has a small bathroom with sink and toilet.

Completely renovated with a mix of modern sensitivity and respect for original details, Palazzo Notarbartolo will offer its guests a unique and unforgettable experience in Venice!

Tenants are provided with bed linen and towels; the cleaning service is provided only at the end of the stay for short periods, for periods longer than a week the price includes a cleaning service and change of linen.

The tourist tax of € 4.00 per person / night (up to 5 nights) is payable in cash on arrival. Children up to 10 years do not pay, young children from 10 to 16 pay 50%.

Fantastic stay.

We stayed for 3 nights and wish it had been longer in Venice. The city itself is spectacular and so easy and interesting to explore. We all loved the apartment, contact with Giacinta was easy and Francesco was so helpful. We caught a water taxi from the train station and to the airport and was such a simple process. Francesco met us and showed us the apartment and how everything worked Apartment is in a great position, Venice is such a walkable city ,getting to the major tourist sites takes no time and also able to explore less touristy areas. Getting a few streets from the tourist sites was so worthwhile. My teens loved the property, the garden is beautiful and the set up made life so easy. Good wifi and comfortable. Good kitchen, which we didn’t use as much as we planned as Venetian food too good to ignore. Would happily stay here again.

A secret garden

We had a delightful stay in Venice and I believe it was mainly due to this property. This location is excellent and made sight seeing in Venice easy, we were close to excellent restaurants that were not over populated by tourists and had a small taste of what it is to be a local. It was wonderful walking through the magnificent doors to reveal such a beautiful garden every day. It refreshed the soul and made you understand that Venice is a very delicate city. The apartment is a home, not a space. The beds are located in different sections of the apartment; one bedroom accommodates a large bed and a single bed it is located on a large mezzanine above the lounge area. The other bedroom is located up a separate set of stairs and is completely private, this bedroom has a large bed and toilet and sink.The kitchen is fully equiped, it has everything you could possibly want even a dishwasher. Coop the grocery store is but 5mins away. We found rubbish removal challenging but Mr Fusco was very charming and graceful regarding instructions. This property was perfect for us as we were travelling with our adult daughter she had her privacy and we had ours. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful apartment in superb location

Thank you for a wonderful stay! The apartment is beautifully appointed and perfect for our family of 5. In the middle of everything that Venice has to offer - restaurants, bars and coffee nearby and the supermarket is a stones throw away (perfect for catering for breakfast or lunch at home). We hope to be back again and would highly recommend to anyone.
