About this property

Buckskin Guest House is nestled on 58 acres of beautiful woods yet is just a few miles from all that Crosslake and the Whitefish Chain have to offer. Its private, tree-top deck overlooks a beautiful wetlands area with two environmental lakes in the distance.

The comfortable 2 bedroom, 1 bath second story Guest House is 1200 square feet with an “up north” decor of knotty pine, gas fireplace, air conditioning and all modern amenities. The layout is an open floor plan with vaulted ceiling and a comfortable gathering area with room to spread out. The dining room comfortably seats 6 or dine outside at the high-boy table on the tree-top deck! There is sleeping room for 6 with a queen bed in one room, another queen bed in the second bedroom and a double futon in the living room. The driveway is shared with our home with the Guest House over 50 yards away surrounded on 3 sides by woods offering privacy and convenient parking.

The modern Guest House is fully furnished and includes bedding, towels, pillows and kitchenware. Reliable, free fiber optic high speed WIFI and excellent 5-bar, 4G cell phone service help keep you connected. The Guest House is Zoom compatible and a Roku streaming stick set up is included.

Close to hiking trails, swimming beaches, golf courses, boat launches, boat and toy rentals, and more, the Guest House provides a central location for access to fun! And for a night out, enjoy convenient access to the many local restaurants (10 restaurants and 3 fast food options!) or order ahead and enjoy take out in the peaceful, quiet setting of the Guest House. Want to stay in? Enjoy a fire in the private fire pit or grill your own food on the gas grill on the deck. And, for an even more laid-back evening, top it off with a movie on the flat screen TV and DVD player selecting from the onsite movies or rent one from several nearby locations .

Attention Hikers!!--We are one of the closest lodging options for the Nordic Ridge Ski and Hiking Trail system for hiking. The trails can be accessed from the end of the driveway as the trails surround our property on two sides.

For bike enthusiasts, the Cuyuna Mountain Bike Trail System is only about 20 miles away! Now there's an adventure for sure. Or, enjoy the paved bike trail through town easily accessed from the driveway.

Boating--There are three nearby boat rental options within about a mile: Your Boat Club, Marine Max and Outlet Recreation! Jet skis can be rented from Seabergs just down the road. Or, Crow Wing Kayaks can set you up with a kayak rental or floating tube trips.

The kitchen is also fully equipped with dinnerware, cookware, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, crockpot, counter top electric grill, roaster, bakeware and plenty of counter space. And if your stay requires laundry, there is a free washer/dryer on the first floor for you to use. Great location, less than comfortable amenities.
The proximity to town was perfect, and access to the hiking/biking trails was great. The comfort of the furniture and proximity to the hosts house left something to be desired for the cost of the rental. Host was very helpful with communication about nearby attractions.

Raceway get away
This a very nice secluded place we didn’t spend a lot of time there as we were at BIR most of the time. But nice to come back after king day to very clean and comfortable place.

Comfy & Cozy Cabin
Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay here. It was all pretty new and super clean. The beds were comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. I loved that the table seated six. Often they only seat 4 at different vrbo's we have stayed at. Really close to the chain and town for anything you want to do and also private and secluded. Cindy was great at making sure we were set upon arrival. If I could improve anything it would be that there were more lamps. I find them preferable to overhead lights. We'd stay here again and definitely would recommend this place.
