About Andrew Mitchell
The house was purchased in 2010. I have been restoring the house to its original state when it was built in 1911. I appreciate the historic neighborhood and its convenience; a location in midtown between Crown Center and the Plaza.

A Distinctive Home and an Architectural Delight
All of the best features of a restored, historical home in Hyde Park were carried through into the Loft for guests to enjoy and find joy. The design of the loft utilized every inch for functionality and charm. From the smallest details of meaningful, wall art framed exquisitely in all areas to craftsmanship of luxury wood and tile exposing pure history was faultless. The two bedrooms were adequately furnished and pleasant together with their adjoining bathrooms. The kitchen's subzero-wolf refrigerator was a favorite of mine. The other aspects of the kitchen are well appointed for a snack or dinner. There are 3 televisions. The loft is on the third floor with an easy climb because of the design of the stairs and sensor lights for night. Parking is excellent. The neighborhood is alluring, endowed with a sense of security, and wellbeing of a time-honored traditionalism. It is a short distance to the well-known business and pleasure areas. The cost for the loft is modest compared to the unexpected therapy received from its beauty. The choice to stay at the Loft is a good choice and better than at a hotel at a higher cost. Go and enjoy. I do not know the owner and this was our first visit but will not be our last when in the area.
Family Trip to KC
Our family had an excellent time at the Hyde Park Mansion Loft! FYI, the loft is part of a house that has been divided into 2 properties (first and second floor is one property and the third floor is a separate loft apartment with outside stairwell access). Due to the size of our family, we rented both properties and it worked out quite well, but know that if you only rent one of the units that you may be sharing the house/backyard with another party. The loft has been very nicely renovated and the pictures do not do it justice. We only had two people staying in the Loft, but it certainly would be comfortable for 4. The location is great (just minutes to Westport)! Andrew was great when it came to responding to our inquiries and he was always very helpful. Lastly, the property is dog-friendly (for a reasonable fee), so we were able to bring our 2 dogs with us. All in all, it was a fantastic trip and the property certainly added to the experience. We would definitely stay here again!
Comfortable and Relaxing
My family and I had a great stay. The beds are super comfortable and I slept really well. I love the decor, very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed the outdoor patio table where we could sit in the evenings and enjoy some wine. Everything is provided and we did not lack for space. Highly recommend if you are visiting the Kansas City area.
We had a good experience in the unit. It is on the 4th level accessed by stairs which was not an issue for our group, but might be for other renters. The beds and linens were very comfortable. We would rent again.
It’s not on the 4th floor
Great place to stay!!
We absolutely loved our stay at Harrison House. The location is perfect for easily getting to Westport, The Plaza and anything downtown. The neighborhood is beautiful and the people we encountered while on a run were very friendly. The actual apartment is stunning, with every little detail perfect, down to the switch plate covers. It is extremely clean and plenty of room for 4 people, at least. We will definitely stay here again.
Adorable loft apartment!
This is a crazy nice loft apartment, very conveniently located to downtown Kansas City. We went for a Royals game and it took us about 12 minutes to get to the K. There was a friendly cat outside the house which most people probably don't care about but it made me super happy. Quiet, clean, host was VERY accommodating with my request for early check in. Highly recommend.
