About the property

CHARMING TYPICAL MAS - MAGNIFICENT GARDEN

Splendid property nearby all the commodities of a village with character: located in a calm and enchanting place, this farmhouse used to be the Permes’ dairy and will charm you by its authenticity, its old Provencal furniture and its great comfort commodities. It will seduce you with its luxuriant garden, its shadowed corners as well as its magnificent secured swimming pool with nice proportions (13 x 6) in a semi-tropical setting. It is really nice on the vast terrace (50m²), under the shadow of the old mulberry tree under which a 10 persons cutlery table is set and from where you can enjoy the sunsets. This superb residence made of exposed stones is composed of a spacious living room (55m²) with beautiful a beautiful heights under the ceilings opened on the old style kitchen. You will love the large Provencal chimney and the solarium terrace. And because often holidays rhymes with laziness , you will not have to make more than 200 metres to get to the best shops and restaurants.

HOW TO BENEFIT AT BEST YOUR HOLIDAYS at the MAS de la LAITERIE?

IN THE GARDEN....

Life is enjoyable around the very big swimming pool.

8 deckchairs are available to sunbathe or read in the shade of Provençal trees

An outside shower with warm water available to refresh and to take advantage of the sun longer.

The garden offers quite a lot of hidden recesses to isolate.

It is also possible to hang on a hammock to take advantage of shades below two accacias.

The swimming pool is accessible by a very wide 6 meter staircase which allows the young children to play under the glance of their parents. On some meters the water is little deep for beautiful balloon parties and the swimming pool long enough(13 m) to swim.

BALLADS WITH BIKE...

The immediate nearness of magnificent road bike or MOUNTAIN BIKE makes of Pernes les Fontaines the capital of the bike of the area.

WHAT VISITING AROUND?

The Mas de la Laiterie is ideally located 10km from the Luberon National Park in the quaint village of Pernes les Fontaines, just 20 km away from Avignon historical town and theater festival, 50 km from stylish Aix en Provence, Cezanne s hometown, and one hour away from Marseille. It is a perfect base for discovering the stunning medieval villages of the region and some of the famous postcard sceneries of Provence. Within a radius of 20 km, you will find l'Isle sur la Sorgue with its antiques market, Gordes and its traditional stone houses, Fontaine de Vaucluse and the Mount Ventoux famously called the giant of Provence. And since it is entirely acceptable to be a bit lazy when on holiday, you won t have to walk more than 200m to reach all village shops (satursay and weanesday provenca markets, bakery, grocery, butcher, pharmacy, 5 restaurants and the tourist office).

Beautiful, relaxing, home base for visit to Provence.

  • 5 of 5

We actually stayed at this property for almost two weeks in July 2014 for my 50th birthday (the calendar above doesn't go to 2014). It was absolutely perfect. The house itself is centrally located, and we could easily drive to all the attractions in, or near Provence, including Aix-en-Provence and Avignon. It was great having a guest house because I had several family members come for the celebration. The pool was wonderful to come home to after a day of sightseeing, and we had several dinners outside on the patio. The owners were extremely lovely to speak with, helpful and available.

I hope one day we get to return!

Quaint secluded property, a short walk from town with bakeries and butcher and a variety of restaurants. Owner was very attentive and quick to respond to questions. I will return!

Beautiful family get-away

  • 5 of 5

This is a special place. You wouldnt think it was a rental, because both inside and outside, everything is aesthetic. No plastic or cheap solutions. It was an absolute joy for eyes and soul to stay there and we will be happy to come back.

Ideal Serenity

  • 5 of 5

Our family came to stay at this beautiful home for the week of our daughters wedding. We truly enjoyed this calm and serene refuge as we prepared for our wonderful event. Our host, Joel was very warm, helpful, friendly and accommodating. The house, terrace, gardens and pool are so private and well maintained. The furnishings are beautiful, interesting, comfortable and well suited to the home. The beds and linens are comfortable and of good quality. We had eight adults in our party and everyone was accommodated quite comfortably.Restaurants, bakery and apothecary as well as the village are all within easy walking distance and yet the feel of the property is so private and secluded. Our only regret is that we didn't book a second week after the wedding to unwind and relax! But we've promise to return again. Thank you, Joel!

Perfect spot for a Provence getaway

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a place to get away--a place where we could hide our cell phones and take the days one at a time, without deadlines or solid plans. Mas de la Laiterie was the perfect spot for us. Our family of 3 visited for 3 whole weeks, and found the location perfect. Each day, we consulted the guides and market calendars available at the house to decide what we'd do. We took a lot of day trips--to nearby Isle sur la Sorgue, a bit farther afield to places like Vaison la Romaine and Fontaine de Vaucluse, and farther still, to Cassis, where we could swim in the Mediterranean after lunch and be home in time to make dinner. During the days we spent in Pernes les Fontaines, we borrowed the house's cruiser bikes to pedal the town and its surroundings, stopping for lunch at Cafe de la Place often enough to make it feel like it was ours. We ran along the path next to the canal, stopping at the old boulangerie within the town walls on our way home. We also rented serious road bikes to climb nearby Mont Ventoux, and found our way to a few olive oil producers. I don't think we realized when we signed the rental agreement how perfectly located the house is, but I can't help but feel lucky we found it.

The house itself is dreamy. With a main bedroom downstairs with the living room, two rooms upstairs, and a separate double in a pool house, it's a great place to invite guests. We had a rotating circus of visitors, all friends and family, and it worked out perfectly well to have people of different ages and interests. There was enough parking space for 3 cars, also, which I imagine is rare in the area.

The owners were also quite responsive, providing firewood when we decided to use it on cold nights, adjusting the heat as necessary (we were there just as fall settled in) and offering great tips for eating and traveling. We also traveled with our 4-year-old, and they were extremely responsible about his safety with regards to the pool.

Go. Drink wine. Just plan a few days extra at home to come back to reality, because it hurts.

A place to return to

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful property combines the peace of the country with the facilities of the village. You could be in the middle of nowhere, so private and peaceful is it, yet you are within a few minutes walk of the heart of the village and its shops, bars, restaurants and Saturday morning market. Pernes is also central for many interesting places to visit.

The house has been restored with great care and style. It is comfortable, spacious, light, well equipped and well furnished. The garden is private and interesting with many mature trees and hidden places to read a book quietly in the shade (or in full sun).

The owner is very helpful; when we said we would be arriving late on a Sunday evening he booked a local restaurant on our behalf. It was superb.

Highlights of our holiday: picking figs for breakfast from the beautiful tree in the garden, sipping wine on the terrace in the sunset, cooling off in the pool.

Carry le Rouet - Cassis

Permes les Fontaines was the old capital of Comtat Venaissin, the Popes land. The region is unique for its beauty and landscapes dominated with citadel villages. To alternate resting moments discover the most beautiful Provencal sites: you are 20 min away from the dazzling Palais des Papes of Avignon and theatre festival in July. Very near too from the magnificent Sénanque Abbey hidden into lavender.

Go bargain-hunt on the Sorgue Isle in the 2nd antiques market of France 10 min away. Invent walks under cedars shadow on the Mont Ventoux, this Provence´s giant (1912 m) or alongside the canal 100 m away of the house and in the scented scrub-land of the Monts du Vaucluse (bikes rental 200 metres away). Or an escapade on the wines road.

We will indicate you the most pleasant restaurants accessible by foot. And if you like biking we can organize discovery routes in the region with the help of a specialized organization.
