About James and Colleen Clark
Jim is born and raised in Marquette, and Colleen's roots reach back to Marquette, even though she was raised in lower Michigan. They have been back in Marquette for 28 years, it is where they raised their family, in the home that Jim was raised in.
James and Colleen Clark purchased this Bungalow in 2014
Why James and Colleen Clark chose Marquette
We had had our eye on this property since we purchased the home we live in (right next door), in 2005. The 300 foot deep, wooded lot is a beautiful natural setting, within the city limits! Sweet Superior Retreat came to be because that is exactly what it is. It's a charming, peaceful little place, and the more that we worked on updating this special place we'd been watching (and caretaking) for 9 years, the more special it became to us.
What makes this Bungalow unique
500 feet from the ever changing Lake Superior & it's beautiful beaches; miles of walking/biking paths; 4 nearby parks & playgrounds; ability to walk or bike to historic downtown Marquette and Third Street's shops, bars and restaurants.

Our 6th stay in this wonderful little house! Always a pleasure to stay there! We will be back!
Always a pleasure to work with Jim and Colleen! Our little home away from home!
Quiet even though it’s right in the city. Barely a short block from Lake Superior. Comfortable and cosy.
Cute cottage in great location
My son and I stayed here while visiting NMU for Wildcat Weekend. It was convenient to the college as well as downtown and Lake Superior. We also took some great senior pics on Presque Isle and down by the old Ore Dock. Mom enjoyed Black Rock Brewery and 3rd Street Bagels. My son liked the college so if he attends, this could be my go to place for accommodations!
Great stay, cozy and great location
This property was well located close to the lake and downtown in a quiet location. Very Cody inside with everything we needed. Highly recommended.
Lovely peaceful retreat!
Great little home
A clean, well-equipped home that is close to everything one needs to do in Marquette. The owners are next door. The big backyard is private. We have stayed here three times and have enjoyed it each time.
Steps from Lake Superior and miles of beaches, 3 water front playgrounds/parks and walking/biking paths. Also, a neighborhood park with playground, basketball court and tennis courts. This home is situated in the historic east side neighborhood of Marquette, MI, on a large, private, wooded lot that will soon have you forgetting that you are less than a ten minute walk from the local favorite shops, restaurants and bars of Downtown and Third Street.
Marquette has been nationally recognized for it's mountain biking and Nordic ski trail systems; and is also home to one of the best Midwest alpine ski facilities, Marquette Mountain.
We are also proud to have Northern Michigan University (NMU) as a resident, and all the college athletics (hockey, football, volleyball, Nordic skiing...) that come with it, as well as the Olympic Training Center that it supports.
NMU also provides the community with live theatre productions at The Forest Roberts Theatre; and in the summer, Lake Superior Theatre Company brings performance to the waterfront.
Marquette is home to many well known events throughout the year, beginning in January with the nationally known Noquemanon Ski Race; February brings the U.P. 200 Dogsled Races; and summer brings Food Festivals, Art on the Rocks, The Outback Art Fair, Blueberry Festival, The Blues Festival and the Ore2Shore Mountain Bike Race, just to name a few. Many of these events are held at Mattson Lower Harbor Park, just a short walk on the bike path away from this charming little home.
