About James and Colleen Clark
Jim is born and raised in Marquette, and Colleen's roots reach back to Marquette, even though she was raised in lower Michigan. They have been back in Marquette for 28 years, it is where they raised their family, in the home that Jim was raised in.
James and Colleen Clark purchased this Bungalow in 2014
Why James and Colleen Clark chose Marquette
We had had our eye on this property since we purchased the home we live in (right next door), in 2005. The 300 foot deep, wooded lot is a beautiful natural setting, within the city limits! Sweet Superior Retreat came to be because that is exactly what it is. It's a charming, peaceful little place, and the more that we worked on updating this special place we'd been watching (and caretaking) for 9 years, the more special it became to us.
What makes this Bungalow unique
500 feet from the ever changing Lake Superior & it's beautiful beaches; miles of walking/biking paths; 4 nearby parks & playgrounds; ability to walk or bike to historic downtown Marquette and Third Street's shops, bars and restaurants.

Quiet, comfy, and cozy.
We loved our stay at sweet superior retreat. Very clean and well stocked. Can't wait till next year. The hosts were helpful as well. Thanks.
Great place to stay while visiting Marquette, MI. Close to town, beach, campus. Whatever your reason for visiting the area, this home is ideal. Neat, clean, and very accommodating.
Our 4th stay! Love the house! Plan to return in May 2019! Thanks Colleen and Jim!
The house is perfect for us in every way. Always clean and well appointed! Jim and Colleen are helpful and caring. We consider it our Marquette home away from home. Would not want to stay anywhere else!
The perfect little home!
I travelled to Marquette for a 3 night getaway with a friend and we could not have been happier with this lovely, little 2 bedroom home. The owners have thought of everything anyone could need in this charming place. Superb cleanliness and comfortable beds with beautiful linens. We slept like babies which gave us energy for our sightseeing during the day and relaxed with watching movies in the evening. I can say without a doubt that we will book here again when we return to Marquette. Many thanks to the owners who checked to make sure we were looked after.
Perfect location, cozy cottage, fantastic hosts.
It was a bit cold during our stay in Marquette, but we had a very warm, cozy and clean home to come back to after exploring the town. We were within walking distance of the beach and downtown. The photographs on the walls that were taken by the host were a nice touch.
Our stay here was such a pleasant surprise! Situated on a very quiet picturesque street, a large back yard and plenty of room to relax! We will be staying here again.

Marquette has been nationally recognized for it's mountain biking and Nordic ski trail systems; and is also home to one of the best Midwest alpine ski facilities, Marquette Mountain.
We are also proud to have Northern Michigan University (NMU) as a resident, and all the college athletics (hockey, football, volleyball, Nordic skiing...) that come with it, as well as the Olympic Training Center that it supports.
NMU also provides the community with live theatre productions at The Forest Roberts Theatre; and in the summer, Lake Superior Theatre Company brings performance to the waterfront.
Marquette is home to many well known events throughout the year, beginning in January with the nationally known Noquemanon Ski Race; February brings the U.P. 200 Dogsled Races; and summer brings Food Festivals, Art on the Rocks, The Outback Art Fair, Blueberry Festival, The Blues Festival and the Ore2Shore Mountain Bike Race, just to name a few. Many of these events are held at Mattson Lower Harbor Park, just a short walk on the bike path away from this charming little home.
