This gorgeous cottage sleeps 5-6 and is completely self contained. It is located just 23 minutes outside of Waterton National Park. Visitors new the area will take approx. 30 minutes as they tend to drive a bit slower on the gravel roads :) Has stunning mountain and prairie views, and is in the country on 106 acres!
Every bit of the 900 square feet cottage has been professionally and beautifully decorated in a vintage inspired theme.
The natural wildlife that you may see outside your window include: deer, antelope, bison, cow, and horses. You may also be lucky enough to see: ducks, llamas, and pigs on the nearby family farm.
There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed as well as a double futon in the living room.
The surrounding deck is a perfect spot to picnic and includes a table, chairs and a barbeque.
Cold winter evenings are perfect for bundling up and sitting in front of the lovely fireplace with a glass of hot cocoa or a good book. You may also want to take long walks in the surrounding countryside and just enjoy the magnificent night display of stars and planets!
Warm summer nights are our favorite time to host family dances and cottage guests are always welcome to join us at no additional charge. Although if you prefer not to, there is plenty of quiet and privacy in your secluded hide-away:)
Hi, my name is Rebecca. When I was just 8 years old my father bought a sailboat and my 7 siblings and I as well as my mother sailed around the world. It was this incredible 5 year experience that motivated me to create a place where travelers from around the world could stay and have an incredible experience!
Rebecca Proffitt purchased this cottage in 2014
3 years ago my sisters and I found a stunning piece of country property and wanted to live there with our kids. Slowly each one of us has been able to build our homes and move out onto this grassy, beautiful place where families dreams come true!
We chose this property because of it's breathtaking mountain views, it's total seclusion from the world and it's proximity to Waterton National Park.
Dear Eric & Rebecca,
Thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely cottage. We had such a wonderful experience as we prepared for our upcoming wedding reception. The whole place was delightful.
My husband and I stayed for a night for our anniversary. The cottage was even better on arrival than in the pictures we seen. The owners were so very accommodating . The cottage was absolutely a perfect place to unwind and enjoy peacefulness. Would definitely love to keep this as a main spot for a getaway.
Loved our stay at this quaint country cottage. We loved the cute decorating and all the added luxuries like the snuggly blankets. Very peaceful and relaxing for our family from 3 yr olds to 70 year olds. Great hospitality, a superb vacation with Waterton so close.
Very clean and organized little farmhouse. The beds were more comfortable than mine at home. The full-size kitchen had everything we needed. It is not a bland hotel experience; it has all the comforts, but with a cute and cottage-like feel. Lots of hot water for 4 people.
Very quiet... We didn't even hear cows at night with the windows wide open, and with the windows closed, the wind made no sound at all (this is very impressive for southern Alberta).
When we arrived Rebecca and Eric stopped by to greet us. Everyone in the area was very friendly.
Bonuses: Incredibly cute kittens came to visit. Great sunsets over the mountains. The wifi was fast and reliable (not guaranteed in the country, but definitely city quality). Cool "general store" a few minutes away in Mountainview driving to Waterton Park. Hawks playing along the country roads. The weather 20 minutes from the park is warmer and sunnier, and there seemed to be no tourists (except us) for miles.
We had the pleasure of spending 2 nights at this property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place is spacious, clean and well equipped. The property owner was very helpful advising us if we needed anything at all to just give her a call. It's located approximately 1/2 an hour from beautiful Waterton park which is definetly worth spending a day at. I would highly recommend these accomodations and hope to one day go back.
We totally loved our vacation at this cute, little cottage!! I stayed there with my Mom, 2 daughters (14 & 12) and my 2 year old son. Everyone was so excited when we walked in the door and saw how uniquely decorated the cabin was. It had everything we needed, including wifi. The beds were comfy and we had lots of hot water. We felt very welcomed and comfortable staying at the cabin. It was very relaxing to stay out in the country, away from the busy tourist places in the area. We had a really great time, and would definately recommend this vacation rental to anyone!!!
Quaint little cottage out in the country side. It’s about 2-3 miles off the main road (via dirt road) in the small town of Leavitt. Cardston is the closest town to get groceries and gas. Waterton is a short 30 min. drive door to door. It’s not much to look at from the outside but the interior is tastefully decorated and very functional. It includes a tankless water heater which is wonderful. There’s plenty of room for a group of 4 with two bedrooms, kitchen and living space. There’s even a washer/dryer but no dishwasher. I liked the quiet remoteness and overall comfort. The proprietors are very attentive, accommodating and responsive. Where I think there’s room for improvement are personal preferences which include: limited ac for warm days/evenings, (the only unit is in family room), very small shower, the tankless water heater is right next to the bedroom and it’s a bit noisy when in use, very creaky floors so it’s difficult to get around in the early morning or night quietly, the futon is really not very functional as a bed, it’s too bumpy. Only a very accommodating child could sleep on it. FYI, if you're going to Waterton Park, they charge you $20/day to use enter the park.
Our lovely cottage hide-away is located out in the country and is close by the many attractions of Waterton National Park. Throughout the winter and summer there are numerous family activities to participate it.
Tourist attractions such as North America's largest Carriage collection, as well the beautiful LDS temple are all just minutes away. Hiking, swimming, cycling, skiiing, dining, hunting, and wildlife watching can all be a part of your lovely vacation experience!
