very quiet, ideally located, comfortable, neat decoration, discount depending on the length, in the vicinity of Cinema, commerce, restaurants, fast-food, hyper centre,
This is one of the most comfortable and well-equipped flats we have rented in the last 15 years of travel to Europe. The design and use of space is brilliant, every square inch is put to some useful purpose. Comfortable furniture (be sure to try the hand-shaped chair), excellent shower room, ample storage, great kitchen, although there is no oven. The dining area is good-sized and has the same great view as the living area. All media devices you could want including an I-pad are available. But if this isn't enough, the location is perfect for travel to any area of Toulouse and beyond. The bus stop is in front of the building, the airport shuttle stop around the corner, and the metro across the street. The train station is about six blocks away. The flat is also a few blocks from the Place du Capitole, the heart of the city. This plaza is surrounded by restaurants and shops, and holds markets and festivals on a regular basis. The tourist office is on the back side of the plaza, and I highly recommend a stop there before you begin sightseeing. They have brochures for all the local and regional attractions, and can make reservations for many of the walking and boat tours available throughout the week.
Toulouse is a beautiful and very walkable city. Although we encountered mostly cool and rainy days, perfect for touring museums, we had a lovely cruise on the Canal du Midi on one of our two sunny days.
Do not miss visiting the Fondation Bemberg. This beautiful building contains an incredible and varied collection of art from the 18th and 19th centuries, with an emphasis on the Fauve movement of the late 19th century. We also toured Les Abbatoirs, and even though there was only one floor open, it was fun to see the transformation of the building from a former slaughterhouse into a modern art gallery. The Basilica of Saint Sernin is also a must see.
We really enjoyed the Entrecote Frites restaurant across the street. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is great. No other restaurant stands out, but we generally had good food wherever we stopped for lunch. We tend to eat dinner "at home," and there is a small supermarket at the foot of the building that has most anything you might need in the way of provisions.
Manuela was an excellent hostess, meeting us outside the building when we arrived and at the flat at the appointed time on the day we left. We would not hesitate to rent her flat again if we return to Toulouse.
I couldn't say enough great things about the owner, Manuela. From the first inquiry to see if the apartment was available till the last interaction with her emailing the receipt, she was delightful- polite and professional.
The apartment- whoever designed this should win an award of the usage of space- there isn't any wasted space. You will have all that you need in this apartment- washer was great, AC worked well, two entrances to the building, close to all areas within walking distance. Do take the metro if arriving by train so that you can figure out where to go- less stressful. We did walk back to the train when we checked out, but glad we took the train there. A grocery is close by and several restaurants and movie theaters. You are also close to many stores for shopping. I will just reiterate- you will NOT find another owner like Manuela- we have rented many apartments and she is by far the best at what she does!
This apartment is perfectly situated near both metro lines and is appointed with all things to make your stay comfortable. We were there during a very hot week and the air conditioner was a blessing! The kitchen is well equipped, the bedroom and bathroom are comfortable and the hosts are welcoming and warm. We could not have chosen a better place for our stay in Toulouse. I recommend this place very highly.
I arrived in the flat and saw that it was clean tidy and a lot of attention had been given to my first impression.
Manuela is the perfect hostess and the apartment is in a wonderful location, close to everything - markets, museums, restaurants, metro and train stations. Manuela has furnished the apartment thoughtfully, with everything a guest might need including extra blankets and pillows, soaps and shampoos, and even a sewing kit. She is available when needed and goes out of her way to ensure your visit is memorable. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is nice. The apartment is in the rear of the building, so there is no noise from Bd. de Strasbourg. When my husband became sick, Manuela graciously offered us an extra night in the apartment, and offered to accompany me to a pharmacy and to make him an appointment with her physician if necessary. We hope to return to Toulouse someday.
